bloodline trait only makes it more common. It still happens even without. The problem have to do with having your needs / magic / spell book open when you level up past viruoso. If you have that closed when you level up it works fine. Got a few characters with the ancient bloodline trait and was able to avoid the problem by just making sure I had it closed

Seriously, guys? The emptying out of the XP bar on overmax gets multiplied by the Bloodline Buff? That's an oops moment right there.

I created my very first mod for this very issue and posted it on Deaderpool's Discord. I can say that, right? Since it's no direct link? I know of no other way to at least provide people with an option while they wait for EA, and let people have their bloodline stories. It may be untested, but so was Realm of Magic. 😇

EDIT: I have tested it successfully on my own saves by now. Without the fix, it glitches, with the fix it works fine. Finally I can grow my sim-daughter up to Teen.

Ehi, i run a test on the multiplier set to 20 for the ancient bloodline trait and recreated the issue with the blank spellbook.

On rank up it took me back to the rank of aprendice, removed all the perks from Morgyn and now I cant open his book anymore.

The problem is indeed the multiplier. If I can link the modified XML package I used to recreate this you can verify it yourself.

If we assume the XP bar is 499/500 points wide, then -10 times 10 is -100, meaning it would constantly jump back to somewhere within the 0-500 range.

But the issue in this particular bug is only related to the multiplier for the Bloodline traits. To fix it, I made the multiplier conditional. It should only apply if the WitchXP is increasing, which means it no longer applies to the -499 calculation. It also means that (in theory) a spellcaster with 499 XP that gains 3XP thanks to the multiplier would end up with 2XP instead of 1XP after the overmax levelup is applied, but I think we can all live with that.

The other multipliers (if there are any) are likely the cause for the identical issues described in the non-bloodline bug report.

So which other ways are there to get a multiplier applied, that is the question...

I'd love to talk about this from a scripter's perspective, but I doubt this is the right place.

I ran some checks, I can't find anything that multiplies the Occult XP's, only the skill gains. So for me, leaving the multiplier in with a conditional seems to be safe. But I downloaded Sims 4 Studio only a few hours ago, so what do I know?

I noticed an identical post about the 20x multiplier on a certain Patreon page. If that's you, thank you for all the other RoM fixes, they are truly a lifesaver. The author of Deadly Siren's Call isn't very happy they didn't get a courtesy message though.
