Re: [FIXED] [SD] Nails not natural colors like they were initially

Weeks later and still no info on this getting fixed.  The issue started a year ago and hope was lost for it to ever be fixed then The Sims team had to just bring it up in the laundry list and do the opposite of what needed fixing... Ridiculous 100%

    Hello Everyone,

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

Just want to let you all know that the team is still investigating this issue.  However, it will take some time.

    Thanks!

After a while, I decided to download the first version of Spa Day and looked through the game files, it appears the nails have the correct swatches but the wrong transparency after the nail readjustment update to fix overlapping with clothing textures. It appears the nail UV map layout is right on the seam between the neck and one of the shoulders, which affects the natural nails looking super odd if the texture is transparent in any way, creating an unnatural "french tip" look.

I made my own fix with the sims 4 studio app, I can gladly share it. I've adjusted the nail mesh UVs on both Masculine and Feminine frames, and the specular mask to match the original with slight adjustments and to make sure the nail UV doesn't go through the bounds of the adjusted layouts. I've made sure to bring back the original colors of the swatches as well as generate accurate thumbnail previews of the nails in CAS.

CORRECTION: even with the fix, there's a problem with some tops with shoulder textures showing through the transparent nail texture. Either there needs to be a whole set of opaque swatches with natural tones or some way to fit the nail UV into a place with no texture overlap. The transparency is what allowed for the nails to look natural, due to the skin showing. Seems like a difficult fix for something so basic :/

FINAL CORRECTION: I FOUND THE ORIGINAL MESHES WITH THE ORGINAL UV LAYOUT, which is actually different than other nails! The uv is DIRECTLY on top of the actual nail skin texture, which means no texture overlapping worries at all!

@LunarBritney Really useful, I hope QA use this and fix it in the next patch, as these were my favourite nails untill they broke them
