I started experiencing this after the horse patch on july 18th 2023. it seems in the background they are doing it but they are stuck in one place.
I have now got this since installing the latest patch , I constantly have to reset sims and then tell them to walk a few paces before they can do any interactions , Really frustrating , You instruct them to do something and they just stand there like dummies
I noticed this with them with eating and interacting with infants. Something that is frustrating is that after the July update, I can't que up babble and other social interactions with an infant. They'll do a few social interactions and then decide to have a staring contest with their parents. Saving and exiting to manage world/main menu/exiting does not fix it either. Sometimes I'll randomly get a chance to fulfill a couple interactions and then it is back to a staring contest. Once I had my infant try to babble with his dad. Him and his dad were just staring at each other for about 11 in-game hours (wanted to see that if I waited, they would eventually do something). Hope this gets fixed really soon. I didn't really notice this back in March, but I have definitely noticed it since the recent patch.
I noticed this after this patch as well. Except for me, there is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. i see a lot of people saying its happening when sims are trying to eat or with infants. for me its very random. it happened when she needed to use the bathroom after taking of her horse and after gardening.
