Also are you using mods in your game ?

I have tried with and without CC & Mods, even tried moving my sims to a new home, going into CAS, even remaking them.  The options are limited to one or two things on care for self option and they are no where to be found even though the games says they are at home.  I can have them call each other and that is about it for interaction other than garden if you already have one.  I was fine until I downloaded Get to Work so I know its something in the expansion that is doing this.  

Remove all mods and then start a new game to see if you have the same issue. What happens if you invite them over ? Do they appear ? Is your icon greyed out or not ?

I think some people have already tried removing mods and CC and still have their sims invisible and in care for self mode.

I've been suffering from this problem since I installed GTW....☹️

Please may someone release a patch or a fix released in the future to combat this problem

I'm sick of my sims being like this it takes away the purpose of playing the game...

EDIT: Turned off script mods, they still want to care for themselves...

I'm going to stop playing the sims until the glitch is fixed ☹️...

Hey! I'm having this issue aswell.. it works just fine when i add them into the world but if they leave their house or simply quit the game, both of my sims are greyed out saying that they can care for themselves i cant click anywhere apart from the setting button :/

Are you using any mods in your game ? If so, please remove them.

I was having this problem too and for me removing the Azoresman_No_high_school and Azoresman_No_Grade_School mods made the problem go away so if you have these mods try removing them.
