Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Upgrade the fireplace so that whenever a sim walks into the room, it lights
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims are lighting the fireplace so much so that it interferes with their other objectives
What do you expect to see? Sims lighting the fireplace occasionally and not frequently
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
I upgraded the fireplace so that whenever a sim walks into the room, it lights. The Sims just think the fire is out whenever they walk out of the room so they frequently go into the room to light it again. This interferes with their other objectives which are time sensitive.

- @GridironGuy88 Does this happen with every Sim in every household or just with certain Sims/all fireplaces ?
Do I understand this correctly that they walk up to the fireplace to lit it although it's already lit ? - @crinrict I currently am only in one house right now but I have two fireplaces. Every sim spanning across generations have wanted to light that fireplace because they think it’s extinguished. I haven’t upgraded my second fireplace just for this reason.
Yes every time they walk into the room it’s lit but they always feel the need to light it again - @GridironGuy88 Would it be possible to add a video of what you're seeing ?

As long as one can see something on it, it's fine. I’ve tried uploading the video several times through different mediums it’s just not letting me do it for some reason.
The main problem is that the fireplace lights whenever a sim walks into the room and goes out whenever they walk out
- @GridironGuy88 That's what auto-light does though. They shouldn't try to lit it on their own though cause it's already on.

I see this also on PS5. Sims do it with any fireplace that's out. They really do it a LOT with the fire pits. I stopped upgrading my fireplaces because the sims just keep trying to light them each time they are out.
If the fireplace is not upgraded they light it once and then it just stays on.
No option for upgrading firepits, however. They are like Moths to flame!
- @PoptartJuniper That’s what I ended up doing too is stop upgrading the fireplace and just replace it with a new one that just stays lit all the time
- @crinrict Yea that’s the problem I was having, they shouldn’t try to light it but they do anyway for some reason.
I ended up not upgrading it anymore and just to replace it with another one that stays lit all the time - @GridironGuy88 is your sim a vamp or normal ?

- @PoptartJuniper Yea that’s what would happen with my sims. Seems like every 10 minutes they would obsess over lighting the fireplace even though it’s already lit. But at least they’re getting their exercise in lol

My tent-living Sim had a “house party” in Oasis Springs in the summer. Everyone started to overheat in their party outfit. We rushed around asking to see everyone’s warm weather outfit.
She interrupted this action to light the fire pit.

I paused and used MCCC to change everyone’s clothes and queue up extinguish fire pit for her.
I assume the game thought I was on a murder/suicide spree, but really we were trying to complete the last stage of her mixology aspiration. 😉 (Mostly kidding, although that would be a reason for the game to ignore queued actions and go make things worse, lol.) Seriously, though, why light the fire pit if you and everyone around you are overheating?
