It happens with items that are no longer (or not yet) valid and I agree with you, that it's a problem.
I'll add it as separate issue and check the hand tool stuck thread if any posts need moving over here.
EA QV Team@petitenerd. Just looking into this issue. Would it be possible to get your save folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and the name of the Sim with the fertilizer?
