What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All available game,expansion and stuff packs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Take a counter, place the tea maker on top then place the counter with the tea maker on top against a wall and your sim will not be able to use it.
What happens when the bug occurs? My sim can not upgrade or brew tea on a counter that is placed against a wall. They get a "can not walk here" bubble.
What do you expect to see? My sim should be able to use the tea maker on a counter that is placed against a wall.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Not sure what's causing this. I have removed my CC from game and tested without it. My sim tries to use the tea maker on a counter that is placed against a wall, it just doesn't work. It seems all of my appliances are broken in this house, too. (The ones placed against the wall). I have tried without moveobjects, removing the counters above and moving the counter to a different spot. It seems to work if it's in the middle of the room.
Here's a photo of it happening. My sim has plenty of room. It still happens with/without mods, so I put them back in my game. Yes, it works on different houses. Do you want me to upload my save file or the lot so you can try?
