Sims currently on different lot not doing what I queued them to do

This surely seems like a bug.  I'll take a sim to the gym while everyone else in the household is fast asleep.  While I'm at the gym the other sims' icons on the bottom of the screen indicate that they're still asleep.  But this indicator isn't accurate--when I return home, every single one of them has gotten out of his/her bed for no reason even though they aren't fully rested and it's still the middle of the night.

Similarly, any time I'm on a community lot and I order a sim at home to work on a certain skill or tend garden, when I get home they're doing nothing of the sort.  Often when I'm on a community lot, sims at home that should have gone to work don't go to work even though I get the notification that they're going to work.

I mean, if I direct a sim to practice writing on the computer and then leave the lot, when I return that sim should still be practicing writing on the computer.  But instead it seems that returning to the home lot always resets it so that anything I've set in the queue for the at-home sims is gone.  Not even the macro-commands like "tend to garden" that you can set for them while you're away function correctly, as the plants are left unchanged.

  • I'm not sure about the tend garden. That doesn^t seem to do much but you do gain skills while you away even if they are not really doing it. I'm a bit unsure how it's supposed to work. I mean why do children have the optoin to tend the garden, when they can't even do that.

I'm moving this to but reports to see if someone else has an insight

  • This is not a bug.  Sims don't do what you put in their queue to do after you leave the lot.  You have to use away actions.
