[WORKAROUND] Ladder options missing for bunk beds with two beds

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.72.28.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have every expansion, stuff pack, game pack, kit
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open build/buy and click the bunk beds. There is no option to change the ladders anywhere like I see on others games. It just lets me change the colors.
What happens when the bug occurs? You can change the color and place the bed but nothing else.
What do you expect to see? A fix so that the bed selection lets me remove ladders from one side
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started after the 3/23/21 update that came out

    @seteva Well, it'll be there if you choose the ones that only have the top bunk.

    If you plan to put it against the wall, just leave Auto Bunks on. It'll do it automatically.

    If you plan to not have it against the wall, but only want the ladder on one side, then turn off Auto Bunks and choose the one that only has the top bunk. You can then select which side to have the ladder on. Then just purchase another single bed to snap on the bottom if you want one there.

    @seteva Not sure what you mean ? The ladders disappear automatically if you place them against a wall (you can also turn that off).

    It doesn't get removed if you don't place it against a wall but I doubt that's a bug. It's working as intended.

    Yeah, that appears to be a bug in the game.

    If you turn off "Auto Bunk Beds" and then select the one that only has the Top Bunk, you can select which sides have the ladder, but that doesn't work on the beds with both the top and bottom bunks.

    @Psychotps Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Thought I checked all bed but .. maybe only checked a loft bed only. Also wasn't sure what they meant by other games ..

    EDIT: Guess as a workaround you can use the loft bed and add a bed underneath.

    I noticed when I was playing around with this that the setting on the gear icon for the top bunk beds also impacts the ladder placement of the top & bottom bunk beds.

    @wombatilim I don’t even have a gear icon. I turned the auto bunks on and that removes the ladder when placed against the wall but I have no other co trolls to remove the ladders

    Thanks! I did already try that with no luck. But I appreciate you trying to help! I have nothing on either bed with or without auto on except color swatches. I’ve tried to do the loft bed and then just click the top bunk, nothing. I’ve tried clicking it while placed, nothing. Only swatches. The ladder does disappear after I place it against the wall, but I can’t do anything when it’s not against a wall, either either the loft or bunk bed

    @seteva Also deleted cache file after removing mods? for me it's the same as others in this thread: It's there for loft beds but missing on the double bunk beds.

    Maybe also try a clean folder and see if it's still an issue.
