A WhoDunIt legacy: Sadie vs. Gillespie gameplay
I have a gameplay going on right now, it is quite confusing and intricate, so if you do not understand feel free to ask questions. I haven't I guess, "decided" about who I feel committed the crime, so I want you guys to give me your two cents and why you feel that way.
The Sadie surname comes from a long lineage of successful investors. Leslie Sadie and Marissa Sadie adopted Frederick Sadie when he was a newborn, and raised him as their own. Frederick was adopted from the woman of a name Imani Gillespie, who had a baby out of wedlock and was sent off to hide her pregnancy. Fred has looked into his biological family and found that his very own arch-nemesis and rival investor was his half brother, Dave Gillespie. Not knowing what to do with this information, he kept it to himself and went on with his life like normal.
Frederick ended up marrying a very nice lady Ella Jones, who changed her surname to Ella Sadie-Jones. They aswell had one child, Sarah Sadie-Jones. Sarah is a very conventionally pretty girl. She is smart, but was raised very traditionally and was told she was to marry and raise children instead of working.
Fred and Ella were having a rough marriage, but due to his parents' beliefs, they couldn’t divorce. Fred had cheated on Ella many times, and therefore Sarah had seen a very different type of love than what people were used to. Despite her dad cheating, Sarah had a very good relationship with him as her mother was an alcoholic and never seemed to have much interested as to what was going on in her life.
Sarah had turned 19, and was expected to marry soon. She went to booster parties, fundraisers, and fancy dinners with her father, in lieu of finding a wealthy husband. One fateful night, she met the one and only Dave Gillespie. She kept her romance with him a secret from her father due to their adversarial relationship with each other, until engagement that is.
Soon after the engagement, she moved in with Dave and his little brother Robert, (who was about 23 at the time, compared to Dave’s wise age of 45.) Sarah never really knew true love until she met Rob, but she couldn’t just call off an engagement, so she did what her father had done and simply had an affair instead.
Not long after, Sarah had found out she was pregnant. The kicker, it’s not Dave’s baby. She didn’t disclose that, though. They rushed their marriage because she wouldn’t dare tarnish the Sadie name with a baby out of wedlock!
Since they were so rushed, they decided to have a small, conjoined, bachelor(ette) party. There were about 20 people in attendance, including the staff. Later the night of the party, Dave was found dead, leaving Sarah PREGNANT and widowed. Who did it, though?
Rob could’ve done it, because he knew it was his baby. He had asked Sarah earlier that night and she basically told him that he was to not tell anyone and he cannot be involved as the father, as it would ruin not only the Sadie name but the Gillespie name also.
Sarah could’ve done it, because she truly did not love Dave like she loved Robert, but again couldn’t just call off an engagement like that!
Finally, Fred could’ve done it. He was the only one who knew about the incestual relationship between them, but once again, a reoccuring theme, did not want to ruin his families “perfect” reputation and track record.
What are your thoughts? Anyone else who could've done it? Any plotholes? Let me know!
