- FriendlySimmersNew Traveleri did not went to post in this topic but here is my 2 cent in this thread for 1 thing the sims4 is a game even if its a life simulator its still a game so everyone is in title in the game to have clothes they like in game, and has a gamer who visted egypt during a cruise in 2010 i can say that everything was equal in term of clothes eather your belife is muslim or not i think every one in the game should have clothes to get the missing clothes i went in game i have to rely on custom content would be nice to have more choice in clothes with out having to rely on custom content not every simmer plays with custom content in there game after all.

thanks for the correction.. it's appears that the Muslim version is called Taqiyah
On another topic might I remind the people who don't want the headscarves in the game that once upon a time though the 1950s and 60s Christan women had to cover their hair in church? There's a reason in movies like the 1960s Pollyana and the 1985 Anne of Green movie that the women and children wear hats i church. So were they "opressed" as well?

I am all for the religions they had in The Sims Medieval because they weren't real. That would be fun to go to church with your sims.

- LoanetRising ScoutI think this is a great idea. Well, kind of. Sure, there are some negative connotations, but it's Sims supposed to be blowing off about sharing cultures? And it is culture. I've seen people go on endlessly about whether Hijabs are a good or bad thing and I say they're neither good OR bad. What is bad is any predjudice towards having them because "Having clothes culturally associated with Islam might make us look like we support terrorists or something!"
On the other hand, there are no other religious clothings in the game - no dog collars or saffron robes or kippahs. If Maxis pulled one they would be obliged to do the others or they'd REALLY get some flack for prejudice. - MadameleeNew Rookie

I was trying to walk away but I just going to point out that in some places like Egypt-Christan and Jewish women also wear headscarves or what we might consider to be hijabs (which is technically an headscarf wrapped in a particular way around a person's head)..so it's not JUST Muslim women who wear headscarves) so it';s not so much religion-but cultral thing.
As I also pointed out earlier on that even in the more civlized countries-(ie Europe and here in U.S. and the Canada) until the 1920s women had to cover there hair as well (as evidence in movies like the 1960s Pollyana and maybe Beauty and the Beast for two seconds in the movie Belle has her hair covered in the Belle reprise not to mention the entire rest of the townswomenfolk in the opening number and Disney's Snow White's EQ )
and in some places they still required you do that in the 50s and 60s in church as well (Truth mom remembers it). UK's Queen wore a headscarf once need I go on. And in some cases married or at least "bethored" women were supposed to be veiled vs. those "lovely ladies of the night"
oh and during the Sims 3-the second or 3rd Hoilday Pack in the store added some reglious element to the set but no one seemed to have notice that the "Santa Clause" outfit looked like a Priest's or at least an England's archbishop outfit then Santa Clause (sure it was based on St. Nick but still St. Nick is a relgious figure much like Jesus in some cases)
So headscarves could be used in either a religious, political, social, economy (ie a richer person vs. a poor person) or even in a historical way. In my own legacy when Gen 6 is a teen she's going to be wearing one of those headwrap things in City Living to show that basically she's a slave to her "step-family"
*walks away quickly* - Id be for a hijab, or some headscarf variation.
- DoloresGreySeasoned NewcomerI honestly hope this will never ever happen. That would be shame if they added hijabs
