Patient claims an imaginary friend from the “world of pure imagination” is taking over his life by pretending to be him. According to the patient, when he was 6, he summoned his imaginary friend, Geppetto, who possessed a doll. He promised to make Geppetto a real boy. Upon performing the necessary ritual, instead of becoming a real Sim, Geppetto took over the body of the patient’s brother. According to the patient, Geppetto has declared "there can only be one."

Our interview with the patient's family uncovered a history of what they described as an “overactive imagination.” The patient has a twin brother whom he began claiming was actually his imaginary friend who came to life when they were 14. Patient has been in several freak accidents which he claims his twin orchestrated to get rid of him. However, there isn’t any solid evidence.  Conversely, the brother also claims that the patient has attacked him to "get him first." Patient now isn’t sure if his twin is the imaginary one or if he is. He appears to be suffering from delusional psychosis. Patient’s father signed off on his being admitted to Newcrest Hospital.
