- ChadSims24 years agoRising RookieThey say they do so I hope that is true but Snowy Escape comes pretty close to one of my request I posted here before besides there being no motel system and the horrible teleporting ski lifts I requested it be animated but everything else was exactly what I asked for probably why it was the last pack I purchased. But if your looking for a Guru to actually comment that is pretty much non existent Ninja will rarely pop in before a expansion and Graham who use to be pretty active is not anymore.
- Chicklet453684 years agoSeasoned AceI'm not sure about them lurking in these feedback forums, but I've always assumed some of them probably skim over them.
I have been frequenting the forums regularly for about 18 months, checking in daily to see if there's anything news worthy and I have seen 2 Gurus comment in other sections. Both times it was when a less well-received pack was released and there were a lot of complaints from the community.
A Guru who is no longer at Maxis commented on a JtB thread (probably because he worked on that pack). And Ninja commented on a DHD thread.
That's the only times I've seen any "recent" activity by any of them here on the forums. They mostly just stick to twitter. - On occasion.
- Occasionally. If you check their profile page it'll show when they were last here or when they commented.

- DaWaterRat4 years agoSeasoned AceGrimSuruDoi once said on his Crossword stream that they do check out the ideas forum (and the forums in general), but they don't usually comment or use any particular idea "in whole"
- boganoba4 years agoNew AdventurerI appreciate the responses, just curious. Since there's always so much creativity & great ideas in these parts, would be nice if some ideas did come to fruition. I think in Sims 3 they were a bit more engaged, but it's been awhile.. I could be wrong.
- ShopGirl984 years agoSeasoned AceI may be completely wrong, but I think taking players' ideas and using them is a bit of a grey area. I know EA does not accept unsolicited game ideas and have stated that any unsolicited ideas they receive will be returned to sender or deleted. It's more than likely to cover their backs; if a player's idea was used without credit or payment (despite willingly being offered), it may cause hassle down the road. So ideas have to mostly come from EA employees.
I think players' ideas are implemented to a certain extent but as @DaWaterRat (or Doi) said, they wouldn't be able to use a player's full idea.
There is more information on that here if you'd like to read:

I agree with you though, I would love to see some of the things Simmers post in the ideas forum come to life. - cyncie4 years agoSeasoned Ace

I think you’re absolutely right about this. They can certainly poll the players about what we want in the game, but they can’t take whole plans, scripts or ideas. The same is true for screenwriting and music. Unsolicited material is returned to avoid copyright infringement and plagiarism issues down the road in case the actual writers come up with something similar and get accused of stealing someone else’s idea. It’s also probably why they aren’t as active in the forum.
