I don't see why this is such a big issue for some players. It's not that big of a change in the game and wouldn't effect anyone. Let players have the option to set what pronouns are used to describe their sims.

Why are people complaining about something that won't effect them? I don't get it.

@Queen_Roogna Mostly because they want the sims team to work on other things, but it's not like it's huge task for them to do anyway. And of course there's players out there that are against the whole cas changes and stuff. I think if it doesn't effect you're game, there's nothing to complain about and that you should let other players thoughts be heard. :)

Yeah, most of the stuff is already there and it would just be another choice for the player. So I don't think it would be that hard to do. If they'd go so far though as to include "they" as an option (which I personally would love) I think it would definitely be much more work. I would be fine with choosing between the already existing genders though if singular "they" isn't possible. That alone would be amazing.

Also, it's sad to see that people are so extremely against something that won't even affect their game since the whole gender update is optional anyways. But everytime this is brought up people complain about it. I really don't see the point. Like I said before: It's an option, no one is forced to use it, but it would bring comfort to some players and representation is, like I also mentioned before, very important. For many people it's good to see people or even sims just like them. Why take that away?

and some people like to give the male sims the option to be pregnant because there sim has a life partner who is also male or female or if there married to an alien sometimes they want the man to be the one pregnant

It would have been a VERY cool thing for them to give us this. "They" is an acceptable option, IMO, also... although I did see what @luthienrising said about translations, which is a valid concern.

I have a VERY personal interest in this subject. One of my kids is transgender. Mom here is still getting used to the up close and personal introduction to a different subculture, but, I fully support a person's right to be who they are.

The ship has sailed on whether gender differences are part of the game. They're in.

Those of you who disapprove do not have to play with those options, and if you are so anti-subject, PLEASE stop trying to derail and distract related threads with your dissent.

Also, tagging gurus and staff to a perfectly civil subject you disapprove of seems pretty childish, IMO. Feels like trolling, honestly.

There are plenty of other threads here. "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Just find another thread, or make one from YOUR point of view on the gender issue.

I won't come in there arguing for gender inclusion, if you title it descriptively and accurately, you won't see me in that thread at all.

Speaking here for anybody who agrees with me, not for those who don't... Those of us who are in support of the issue would REALLY appreciate a little more "live and let live" behavior from those of you who are not fans.

Sorry if I don't know what I'm talking about as I haven't played around with the body types yet. But could you not use the "female base" (gender) and then give her the male body type? She would then be refer to as a she but look like a man I presume?

Why don't you just make your sim a female then? It will be referred to as she, and you can change it to look like a man or a woman, and also change if they can be impregnated or impregnate.

Look at it like the female male options are the options for pronouns. If you want a sim to be called she, make it female, if you want it to be he make it male. Then you can change the gender settings

@JackOnYourBack and @MinecraftdSimmer - It almost gets the job done but that doesn't quite solve it. A Female Sim with a masculine body type is not identical to a Male Sim with a feminine body type. The masculine Female, for example, will still wear a bra, and her breasts can be the same size as those of a feminine Female. By contrast, the feminine Male will not wear a bra by default (ie when all shirts are unselected), and the chest cannot be made very large - it looks more like a very puffed-out man's chest, rather than female breasts. That's the main difference I've noticed. However, that difference is minor enough to me that I have indeed used that solution to this issue.
