How does someone go about sharing the sims they create?

I spend a lot of my time with Sims 4 in CAS mode. I can get lost for what seems like days endlessly experimenting with sims and their looks. I had thought about posting my creations before but never really pursued it. Now I have a cheerleader in my ear saying I need to share my sims, so lost and bewildered as I am, I'm ready to take the plunge.

I have so many questions I thought I'd come in here and get as much advice as possible. Where to start? I know I could just click the upload button in CAS and put my sims in the gallery, but that doesn't really feel like an option since my sims are really loaded with alpha, and even maxis match, cc. I can't even begin to imagine not using cc. Would it be better to use TSR, Tumblr, or Patreon? Or some combination of those three? If I were to go with Tumblr or Patreon, do I upload the files to them for hosting or do I have to arrange for my own hosting?

Next, how in the holy plumbobs am I supposed to find a particular sim in all that gibberish in my Tray folder?😲 I'm assuming it's going to have something to do with timestamps? I'm sure I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of things I need to consider, and do, but I'm dying to share. I love creating sims so this just feels so right to do, but I'm feeling sort of lost at the moment.
