Is there any point in using the report button?

Is there any point in even using this button, from what I can see all it does is hide the stolen work from you and not remove it from the offenders gallery. I also cannot see that any action is taken ...

I doubt they will do anything. From legal point of view it is not stolen, because it was never your intellectual property — all creations uploaded to the gallery belong to EA.
Report button is probably more useful when you see inappropriate/adult content.
