Jessica Fletcher House, Revisited Finished Pictures!

I have spent too many nights of sleeplessness, recently. However, since I have Murder, She Wrote recorded (seven episodes per block) I have caught scenes in her home (Interior set) that has caused me to do a total rethink. In fact, I consulted some of the still photos I found online and came to the realization, that I had the layout of the rooms in an L. When in fact you can see through to the livingroom from the kitchen door off of the dining room. :open_mouth: Also, I saw there is an archway to the right of the Franklin-style stove just inside the back door. From this archway you can see the staircase. I have attempted to amend my build. But first I have tried to map it out on graph paper, to create an actual floorplan. There is reference in one particular episode that the only bathroom in the house is downstairs. I have spied a small 'office' off of the dining room, also through an archway. So much to consider trying to make it all fit into the external profile of said house, since they used the Blair House in Mendicino, CA for the exterior shots. It's not quite there, yet, but I thought I'd advise those who are interested in this build, a new one will be coming.
  • I have finally finished the rebuild. I have uploaded it to the Gallery already, under my username, which is the same as my name on the forums.

The house is a walk-thru, which isn't wholly unusual for the time frame in which it was built.
  • Your redesigned Jessica Fletcher home is lovely :) Very great exterior and the roofing is very nice. The windows are lovely.

Thank you so very much. I tried to be faithful to the still shots I found online of the Mendocino Inn in California, the show used for the exteriors. Having shots such as the one I used helped me to see the window on that side of the house. I also found a very old shot of the Bailey house, that became the Inn. Putting all of that together, plus still shots from the Interior Set showed me I have made some erroneous decisions on the floorplan, itself. It's still way large in size, this after carefully downsizing without messing up all that work.

I tore it down at least twice before I reached this stage of the build. I will translate it to graph paper for the future, should I get a bug to build it again. There is an archway leading from the kitchen. I saw it plainly in at least three episodes lately. From there you can see a room, part of the door, that I presumed is the one and only bathroom known to be in the house. Also you can see the staircase from the arch, or the window next to the arch from the kitchen. The arch leads into this hallway, of sorts, that also connects to the foyer. It's a WA:LK-THRU design. Solved the issue of where I should place the bathroom, that much is certain.
