Sportsman Cave

This is an entry for Rosemow's room challenge. The theme was "A man cave". My entry can be found here.
This week we have been designing a man cave for Shane to enjoy. I started with a few ideas for this room, but I very quickly knew I was going in the somewhat expected direction, because I just had too many ideas for a sports themed man cave. Now, I did want a slightly different color scheme, I was actually aiming for brown and beige colors, but somehow I ended up with black and grey instead. It just worked better in this case. There is a few brown/beige details in there though.
When I started there were two main ideas I had that I wanted to put to life. The first was the built in media center with multiple TV screens so that Shane and his buddies could enjoy several sports games/events at the same time. The bookshelves do not function as a bookshelf, but is for decoration. It's in fact my boyfriend who felt it was too 'boxy' with all the cabinets. He wanted more open shelves. I decided to go with the guy perspective, since I am in fact designing it for a guy
The second main idea was the archway bar. Originally I had a wall with an archway door, but as I saw during playtesting the bar would then not function, so I had to make some creative changes. Not perfect, but it still has that archway look I was going for, so I am stoked (and of course, the bar now works!).
The rest of the build kind of just came to be. The sports prize nook with the dart game, the foosball table, the fireplace with seating, the kitchen nook behind the bar with two fridges (to keep Shane's beer cold) and the counter tops behind the sofas. That way Shane and his friends can watch the games lounging on the couch, or have a beer or a snack at the counter and still keep tabs on the game. Other than that I just filled the room up with as much clutter as I could to try and make it feel like a basement with all kinds of stuff Shane has accumulated over the years.
Note: As I explain in the entry, the door on the left of the media center is for a bathroom. We can't have Shane and his friends using the upstairs bathroom, so he's made himself one down in the basement.
