One Goal at a Time Rotational Legacy-update Nov 30

November 30th below: Spencer-Kim-Lewis family get a house renovation

Nov 30 Update- Packs so far: Base game and Laundry Day (I started with L&D still on, but decided to wait a little while while I'm renovating some lots). I found out I love Laundry Day so much that I really don't like living without it. Also, I'd really like to have a laundry space in every home.

Introducing my new Legacy Rotation

(started Nov. 5, 2024)

Over the last month I've been experimenting with play styles, and I think I've found one that fits me really well. I love rotational gameplay. I've been waiting for Life and Death to come out to start, because I want every sim to have a personal gravestone and place within their history. I also want to really play each and every household that is premade. So, I've created one sim to start, and I've decided on Willowcreek as my starting point for this rotational legacy.

I've disabled all of my packs except Laundry Stuff. I can't imagine a house without laundry. And of course, the new expansion, Life and Death. I won't be adding packs back in quickly. I really want to soak in every single one until I feel satisfied, and then add an element to my game rotation. I also want their ages to be staggered. I'm going to start off by staggering them through use of the Potion of Youth at various non-necessary times, so that birthdays will also be different for each sim.

One Goal at a Time

First Rotational Goal:

Establish everyone in their career. If they don't have a career, choose one for them or assign them a role (mom, tutor, seed collector, etc).

Order of Rotations:

I'm starting out with 6 Households in Willowcreek, and then as I feel I can handle another household, I'll introduce them into the mix. My next post will have the names and pictures.

  • Introducing my starting rotational legacy families:

    In Order:

Wendy Taylor- the first sim, new in town, to move to Willowcreek.

The Goth Family- established family in Willowcreek

The Pancakes- the gossip of the town of Willowcreek

The Spencer- Kim-Lewis Family- wait, the who's? No one knows, but they live in that huge obnoxious building they call a house.

The BFFs- just moved out on their own, trying to find their way in this crazy world.

Alex Moyer- passing through, not sure if she'll stay

Starting with Basegame, Laundry Day, and Life and Death. All other packs are disabled for the time being. First world to play: Willowcreek

    Starting Point: New Game

I plan to change some of these lots to one's I've previously remodeled, and I plan to remodel the rest. After each one is remodeled, I'll decide whether to keep it in my game or swap it for one of my own builds, old or new.

This is the first created sim I'm putting in my rotation. I made her on Oct 7, 2024. She's starting over (no skills/relationships/simoleons, etc). I'm starting her on the Money Making Scenario, and the only way she can make money is by the Trend Setter career.

    Introducing Wendy Taylor:

The other Willow Creek Residents starting out in my rotation:

    One Goal at a Time:

    First Rotational Goal:

Establish everyone in their career. If they don't have a career, choose one for them or assign them a role (mom, tutor, seed collector, etc).

    Happy Simming!

  • A little setting up of the base game worlds:

I would like to eventually explore all of the builds done by Maxis, so the lots already in the library that aren't in the world, I went ahead and set down on the lots I thought they should go for now. If it was pictured in Newcrest, I set it in Newcrest, etc. There were only two that wouldn't fit. After I explore them in live mode, I'll decide whether to redecorate them, bulldoze them, or whatever, but I want to live with them a while first, and give them a chance. Part of this process for me, is trying everything.

Here's the new worlds with Maxis' Library additions:

Here's the lots that were added:

I don't think I've been in most of these. Has anyone else ever tried them out? What did you think of them?

These are the two that wouldn't fit. I'll hopefully try them out some other time when I have room.

  • Part 1

    Wendy Taylor gets a promotion:

Wendy is all about fashion, and this sociable sim wants to get to know everyone in town. First things first, let's get her a job in the Style Influencer career. The very first thing she buys on her first day of work, is a pink, leather bound journal, to keep track of her goals. Wendy loves to write, keep up with her figure at the gym, and is interested in learning more about photography. She might be called a party girl, but it's not because all she cares about is fun. It's because all she cares about are sims, and getting people into community is important in her book. Her little pink book, to be exact.

Wendy pushes through sleeping on a few hard benches and showering at the gym (thank goodness her job came with a membership), and gets her first promotion quickly! She goes from level 1 Rag Reviewer to Level 2 Consignment Commentator very quickly. It's great that her boss recognizes good talent and hard work.

Love this! I always want to try rotational play, but I get too attached to one family. I love the new Goth house. They are one of my favorite families, but I hardly ever play them. Good luck with everything! :)

Thank you! I think I've finally found my style of gameplay. I love them! I moved Alex to the second floor and him and his sister have a really close relationship now.

  • Part 2

I gave the Goth's home an update. I think they're going to just love it here. I'm not a particular fan of red interiors, but the Goth family loves their red and black. All of the bedrooms are on the second floor now and they have a hot tub in the back yard. I hope they enjoy it for many generations! Cassandra got an upgrade to her bed, too. Everyone else had the luxurious top-of-the-line bed, so now Cassandra can enjoy a good night's sleep with the rest of them.

The Goth's are doing well, working toward promotions and better grades. I'm focusing on careers, but I'm not leaving out aspirations while I'm at it. Skills pretty much take care of themselves. I've noticed that Mortimer's aspiration means he'll need to change careers a couple of time. I'm trying to decide what career I want him in next. I'm considering the Undertaker's career. Who better to run the local graveyard that I'm eventually going to make?

The Goth's tried out this National Park that Maxis made for the Library. It is absolutely beautiful, and fits right in to the surroundings.

We almost lost Alexander to a fire! His mom gave him a scolding for playing with fire and then felt really bad for yelling at him and apologized. After that incident, I added tiles around the fireplace.

Mortimer and Bella both got promotions, and Cassandra and Alex are now B students. Good job, guys! I love seeing you work together.

Your makeover of the Goth house is lovely! ๐Ÿ™‚Very nice exterior wall textures, and the outdoors dining and hot tub patio is great. The interior furnishing and red and black colours are lovely. Very nice design of the living area where they can enjoy sitting near the fire or playing chess. It is good that Alexander wasnโ€™t killed by the fire! Congratulations to Mortimer and Bella on their promotions.

  • I've been visiting Magnolia Blossom park so much since playing this base game save, so I decided to dust her off and show her some love. I'm looking forward to taking my families here, now!

Here's my renovation/update. It's on the gallery if anyone wants to download it. It's all base game.

Your makeover of Magnolia Blossom park is lovely! ๐Ÿ™‚ The layout is great. Very nice kids play and outdoors dining and bbq area. The flowers and statue area is very pretty! The chess nook is great.

  • I hope that your save goes well ๐Ÿ™‚It is great the households that you plan to play and how you are setting up the worlds.

  • Part 3: The Pancakes

First Eliza gets a new hairdo and some tweaks to outfits. This hairstyle seems to fit her personality more, in my opinion.

While the Pancakes are the talk of the town, mostly guys making fun of Bob for being a doormat, it seems to work for these two. Eliza likes being bossy, and Bob likes being bossed around. He doesn't so much like the gossip, though. He's keeping his eye out for a bro to watch sports with. Eliza wants a baby, and Bob is happy to help make that happen. Maybe the baby will get the neighbor's attention on something else besides their marriage.

Eliza gets busy decorating their house, and while they're quickly running out of simoleons, she's happy with the progress. Both of them like having their own beds, but with a baby on the way, they can no longer afford to have entirely separate bedrooms. Eliza comes up with a renovation that will allow for a child's bedroom and a small private office for Bob. As long as he has a space to get away from all of Eliza's fascination with pink decor, he's cool. And what better way to cope, than a jog with pancakes in hand. Extra syrup.

Bob's been mastering the art of cooking the perfect pancakes, and is so obsessed that he goes jogging with them in hand. A promotion follows close at hand.

And Bob and Eliza welcome their new family member, little Robert Pancakes. Bob is so excited for a new son to teach the secrets of the perfect pancake. The secret to perfect pancakes and syrup will have a legacy in the hands of a boy all his own.

Congratulations to them on the birth of little Robert! ๐Ÿ™‚ The renovation of their home is very nice.  Congratulations to Bob on his career promotion. It is great that he even takes a plate of pancakes with him when he goes jogging!

  • Spencer-Kim-Lewis House Renovation

(some of these pictures did not end up where I wanted them. I'm trying to get it straight, but if it doesn't make sense, that might be why)

The Pancakes had their new baby, and now I'm ready to move on to the Spencer-Kim-Lewis household. I've always detested this house, but I wanted the bones to stay the same. I kept the ultra modern style and renovated the floorplan so that you can look over the balcony on each floor, straight through to the living room. The bedroom on the first floor, technically the master, the parents gave to the grandpa. He's just not as able to get around as the other members in the household, so first floor was decided for him. He loves to garden, so we'll find him in the new greenhouse at the back, near the kitchen, oftentimes.

The second floor is shared by grandma and Olivia. Grandma's got her own balcony, and Olivia has access to the music room that's near the stairs. Olivia's artistic and loves music as well, so it's convenient for her. Grandma's very motherly and watches Olivia when both parents are gone, and loves to cook with Olivia's help.

Olivia's parents have the entire top floor to themselves, including an art studio for Mom and a tech set up for dad. His desire is to be a professional gamer, so the family uses the computer downstairs in the kitchen...and sometimes grandpa shares his computer with Olivia. They have a really close relationship.

I'll be playing them next. I'll get back with an update on them sooner or later. I'm hoping to play them through the Christmas challenge thingy, depending on what it's like. Hopefully they can earn some money before Christmas, because the renovations stretched them past their limits.

    Their new modern mansion:

Grandma and Olivia are on the second floor, along with a music room.

Olivia's parents are on the top floor, with the art studio right off the stairway.
Grandpa's bedroom is on the ground floor.

I'm sorry the pictures aren't in an organized order. Every time I edit it, it isn't the way I put it anyway. So, I put captions below the pictures. Hopefully it's not too confusing.
