@LegacySims2017 - Thank you, I'm glad you've been enjoying our stories and thrilled you'll be joining us again! :) The reason I left out the option to go to festivals if invited was to make it more challenging. Last year, Essa went to the Romance Festival the first week and harvested all the rare/expensive plants for her garden. As a result, she ended up with too many simoleans too early. That was my choice though, I didn't have to send her.
However, I also feel it's somewhat cheating for the challenge since our Sim is not supposed to visit any other worlds unless they have completed the aspiration(s) associated with it first. Newcrest can be a neutral world to visit though, depending on your challenge set-up. I am not the challenge police though, if you'd like to send your challenge Sim to festivals if invited, then go for it! Whatever makes the challenge fun for you is the most important thing. :)
