Owned furniture when roommates move out? Personal belongings that appreciate/depreciate!!

I think each sim should have ownership over items they buy from build/buy or are given/earn. This would make life so much easier when sims move out and create incentive to buy objects that represent the sims because they travel together and make up their world even if in a new location they can bring their stuffed animals from home.

Ideally this would also provide an opportunity to add value appreciation and depreciation for items as they age.
Art would grow in value over time to provide incentive to buy and hold on to it.
Furniture would decrease in value over time to increase challenge and provide more handiness opportunities (restore furniture action that restores value)
