In Fall there should also be a Harvest Day, similar to Thanksgiving and harvest festivals in Europe. Sims would also have a free day and harvestables planted on that day will have the "perfect" quality. Also you could make Roast Turkey as a family dinner, Sims will get a whim to eat Roast Turkey on that day.
