I actually haven't had many major issues with the EA app, apart from it not recognising all the packs I have installed a couple of times. But that's only happened to me twice (so my most recently-played Sim appears bald and/or naked depending on what they're wearing). But I've seen enough complaints about the EA app to realise that it is annoying for most people. I didn't have problems with Origin, either. I agree with @SnowBnuuy 's sentiment of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I remember people did complain about Origin sometimes, but not to the extent as with the EA app.
