Silver Variety Stories

Hello Again,

Since it would take too long to write backstories for some of my households, I'll just introduce them as I complete a gameplay visit with them ( I call my gameplay, visiting with my households) .

My main game save is called, "Silver Valley Ventures " which has a mixed of 'founding' households from my previous Sim story families, 'Alphabet Series Sims, 'Scenario', and my newer 'Orphan Teen & Children' families. 

After this game had one household per world except for two, I started a second save called, "Silverford Country".   In this game save, I used my updated Simself, Grace Ford which uses my middle name and the last part of my last instead of my full first and last name.  The second founding household uses a new Sim I created and named after one of the horses my family own almost 40 years ago.  Her name is Krystal Sand and can my found in my gallery.  Since she's named after a horse, I decided to have Krystal do one of 'Horse Ranch' aspirations.  

Now let's meet my Sims.

Household # 1    Goopy’s Gardens

                This household is originally part of my former ‘Alphabet Sim’ series where I created random Sims using each letter of the alphabet for their first and last names, traits, aspirations where possible. 

 Goopy Gabriel and Paris Poinsetter were part of my ‘Alphabet’ sims.   After meeting each other,  they quickly fell in love with each other.  After getting married, Goopy moved in with Paris who lived in one of the city’s penthouses.  Over the course of time, Goopy and Paris decided to move to a bigger home in the country where they would have more space for his gardens and raise their children.  While searching the real estate listings online, they decided to purchase a nice piece of land in Chestnut Ridge where they built a lovely family farmhouse, a greenhouse for Goopy, a play area for the kids, and a barn for future farm animals.

This is an overview picture of the Gabriel family home known as 'Goopy's Gardens.

Since they both had jobs that had the option to work from home with Goopy’s gardening and Paris’s education careers, they decided to minimize the need for hiring a ‘nanny’ service by taking turns working from home, so that one of them would always be home with the kids.  Over the course of time, Goopy and Paris welcomed five children into the family.  Lillie is the eldest and is getting straight As in school.  Her  twin brothers, Cortez and Markus are just about to start school while Melanie is the youngest of the family and is a wiggly, little infant.

Now let's meet the family:

This is Goopy who, like most 'Gluttons' loves to eat. As per his 'Goofball' personality, Goopy loves everything to do with comedy but is also a 'genius'. He is almost at the top of his 'Gardening' career and on his days off or holidays, likes to journey to Batuu to work on his "Galactic Privateer' aspiration. As you can see, Goopy was a little bit of wild man getting into trouble and sports a big scar from those days before settling down to gave a family and focus on his gardening career and dreams

Meet Goopy's lovely wife, "Paris Poinsetter' . Paris is a 'Proper' and 'Perfectionist' but is a little on the 'Paranoid' as she is always worried that people are talking behind her back. Despite all that, Paris is a wonderful mom to her children and a great role model and mentor to her students in the 'Education' career. When she gets some free time, Paris likes to throw parties that will hopefully help her fulfill her dreams of becoming the neighborhood 'Party Animal'.

Meet Goopy & Paris's eldest child, Lillie who is a 'Green Fiend' who loves tending her father's plants but has recently decided that she wants to be a 'Bear' for the remainder of her childhood years and now wears the yellow bear suit around the house. Lillie has completed her childhood aspiration of becoming an 'Artistic Prodigy."

Goopy & Paris's twin boys are now ready for school. This is Cortez who likes to keep everything 'Neat' and tidy around the house so that he can host his future sleepovers in a clean house. He hopes to become a 'Slumber Party Animal' during his childhood.

Meet Cortez's twin brother, Markus who has the wild hairdo of the family. He is a 'perfectionist' like his mother and was to be an 'Artistic Prodigy like his big sister, Lillie.

Last but not least we have the youngest of the family, 'Lillie' who is a cute 'Wiggly' infant and has had many infant milestones including 'grab' and can ' life her head'.

The family is lovely 🙂 The kids are very sweet 💗It is very nice reading the background details of each of the sims.  Their home is lovely 🙂 The greenhouse and gardening area is great and very nice barn.  The design and layout of the build is very nice and great kids play area.

Thanks for your comment, rosemow​ .    I have been thinking of getting back in sharing stories about my Sims although for some of my households the stories go way back, so thinking of a concise way to bring their backstory to the present without too much detail is tricky. 

Here are a few of questions.

Is there a way to modify the title of my thread to something like  , SilverJan's Variety Sim Stories or if I should create a thread for each of my three game saves?  

I get notified by EA Forums when I get new subscribers, is that the same as 'followers'.  Is there a place in my profile where I can view them and how can I find new and old friends in the new forums so that I can follow them, too?What is the best way to get more views in my new thread.  I've lost touch with my old thread for Sims 3:  Sims and Friends: Share Your Stories so I thought I'd start fresh.

Thanks for your help as I get used to the new forums.  I don't really want to start a new web based story page for my game  but just use the Creative Corner to share my Sims on.

When you press the little cog wheel at the top right handside of your thread, there is an option to “edit”. You can change the title then. 
When you want to follow a particular thread, then press the little bell button at the top right handside of that thread’s page, and then you will be notified when someone replies/posts to that thread.
 There isn’t a place where you are able to see the people that are following your thread. 
This thread may help you with using the forums. Happy simming! 🙂

Hello rosemow​ and @Everyone,  

I'm finally back to introduce another household from my main game save:  Master Maxwell which reflects his ability to max many skills in short periods of time.   Here is his backstory and I will introduce the rest of his family after my next visit with them in my rotational game play.  

MAXWELL’S BACK STORY

Maxwell was born in the countryside of Windenburg where his parents, Orson and Teulia Lorford had built a lovely family home with a garden for his mother who was aspiring to become a Freelance Botanist and Orson was working to complete his goals in life.  Will  more of their story another time as it’s Maxwell’s turn in the spotlight.  Other family members include his triplet sisters:  Candace, Juliette and London who were also born in Windenburg.

Shortly after Maxwell started grade school, the Lorfords moved to the Sage Estates neighborhood in Willow Creek where he gained three more siblings:  Chris, Brenda and Clayton who arrived after Maxwell moved out to attend Foxbury Institute to study in the Distinguished Computer Science program from  which he graduated with honors.  Maxwell always maintained high marks throughout his grade school and high school years and completed three aspirations including his childhood dreams of becoming a ‘Social Bunny’ and ‘Rambunctious Scamp’.  His high marks at Copperdale High School earned him an early graduation and allowed him to complete his Friend of the World aspiration all before becoming a young adult.

Since Maxwell has the ‘practice makes perfect’ trait, he has been able to max several skills in his young life including     Charisma, Cooking, , Dancing, Fitness, Handiness, Logic, Mischief, Programming,  and Robotics.  After moving to his new home in Del Sol Valley,  Maxwell decided that he wanted to use his logic and robotics skills to become a Nerd Brain and is now pursuing a career in Acting as he recently received a job offer to begin at level 5 of the career due to his ‘Pristine’ reputation. 

Here are some photos of Maxwell and his new home.

Meet Maxwell Lorford who loves to make friends with everyone he meets. He is a cheerful young man likes to keep 'active' and is always cheerful. Maxwell also has the 'perfectionist' and 'practice makes perfect' so anything he makes or does is done well. Since becoming a young adult, Maxwell has also become an 'insider'. Despite all these positives, Maxwell has a 'squeamish' side to him so finding bugs and frogs are not his thing.

In the picture above, Maxwell is getting his hair styled for his first acting gig in which he was very successful.

Maxwell is practicing his acting skills in preparation for his first 'extras' acting gig later that day.

Here are two pictures of Maxwell's home in Del Sol Valley where the inside and out are decorated using various combinations of his favorite decor styles which include French Country, Basics, Garden, Patio, Modern, Art Deco, and Luxe. He also loves the color palettes of blue, black, gray, and brown.

This is view of Maxwell's living room and dining area. I used a modern house plan as a guide for the main floor. The up and downstairs areas will be decorated as needed in future game play visits.

Here's a view of Maxwell's bedroom and an entertaining room behind the kitchen. Guess I should have gotten a picture with the walls up so show the inside window over the sink.

It was great reading about Maxwell 🙂 I hope that his acting career continues to go well. His home in Del Sol Valley is lovely. The greenhouse is very nice and it is great that he has a rocket ship in the backyard. Very nice animal shed, chicken coop and barn area. The interior furnishing is lovely! Very nice black, gold and white colours. His bedroom design is elegantly nice and lovely curtains in the rooms through the home.

rosemow​   Hope you're having a wonderful day.  Thanks for the feedback on Maxwell's home.  Since the modern and luxe decor styles are in his favorites, I decided to find a 'Modern Luxury' house plan to use as a guide for the main floor and found one on Houseplans.com  site.  Guess I could have posted this in your WIP thread since it will be in progress for a long time since I usually decorate rooms has they are needed but may start the downstairs hobby/family area where I can work on his robotics and other hobbies that he enjoys.  Will probably save the upstairs for when he gets married.  Maxwell has a 'lovebird' relationship with one of orphan teens, Ann Pleasant who was adopted by Angela Pleasant  during her senior years.  Will share Ann's story next time I visit the Pleasant household which includes her older brother, Tyrone who is also an actor.

Hope you're all having a great holiday weekend.   

Today, I'm introducing one of my 'Orphan' households.  Over the course of playing in my main game save, "Valley Ventures',  I notices that due to the 'neighborhood stories' deaths, especially of the townie households,  children were being left orphans so I decided to give lives to some of these children by either creating for them a new parent(s) in CAS using genetics and/or by creating their stories to create an aunt or uncle to be their new parent(s).  For teenaged Sims, I just gave them their own lives and added many of them to my active households. This update focuses on one of my early orphans before disabling the 'death by accident'  part of the 'Neighborhood Stories' for the 'In World' households as well as some of the 'Not in World ones with young kids.  because. the game was generating too many deaths for my liking.  I play with long lifespan but modify the days to the Sims 3 long lifespan which I feel is more sensible.

Anyways it's time to introduce my "Orphan Trey' household.

TREY’S  STORY

This story begins with a young boy named Trey Douglas whose mother, Natasha, had anger issues which led to her tragic getting so angry at something that she exploded (according to the game).  To make it sound a little more realistic, we’ll say that she suffered a massive heart attack in a fit of rage.  Thankfully Trey did not have to grow up alone as he had a uncle, Leroy, who had just joined the Strangerville military in his quest to discover the truth behind the mysterious illness exhibited by the locals.  Leroy had a nice home built in the Strangerville Plaza across from the local library to raise his new family in.

After being notified of his sister’s (See notes below) tragic, Leroy was more than happy to adopt Trey and raise him as his own.  Although Leroy is a single father, he is very family orientated and has a soft spot for orphaned children and over the years has adopted three other orphans.   Shortly after adopting Trey, Leroy found out about a young boy named, Arjun Parikh whose father was killed in a house fire that left the boy not only an orphan but also homeless. Leroy’s heart went out to Arjun and adopted him on the spot.  Over the years, he has also adopted another child, Darnell, and a newborn baby girl whose mother died in childbirth and named her Mariah. Oops almost forgot, Leroy also adopted a mixed terrier dog from the shelter named, Scotch.

(Notes:  I created Leroy using the genetics option in CAS and the random button for his traits and aspirations.  See the captions below for the traits and aspirations of each family member

These first two photos are the front and back views of Leroy Douglas' house that he had built when he adopted Trey . The house uses mainly decor styles mainly from the Farmhouse, Queen Anne, Suburban, Basics, Mission, Modern which are Leroy's favorites, Oher styles used, especially in the upstairs include, Island, Garden, Storybook, Shabby, Industrial, Cute, Vintage and am sure others will be added when little Mariah grows up and develops her favorites.

It's time to introduce the family.

Meet Leroy Douglas who adopted his 'nephew', Trey when his mother passed away suddenly while shortly after he started grade school. Leroy is very "Family-Orientated' and loves each of his adopted children as his his own. He is 'active' in his military and balances working from home and at the military based while his children are growing up. He now has two nannies to help him out while he is at work. Since he's a 'perfectionist', Leroy likes make sure he does his job well and wants to ensure his children learn the value of a job well done as they grow up. His 'cheerfulness' always manages to brighten the days of everyone he meets.

Here is a candid picture of Trey just getting home from school. He is currently an A student and has completed hi s first childhood aspiration of becoming a 'Social Butterfly' and since he has maxed his creativity skills, Trey is working on a second aspiration, to become an 'Artistic Prodigy'. He also 'Loves the Outdoors' and likes to tend to his father's plants. Trey is good friends with all of his siblings and has a "Jokester' relationship with both Arjun & Darnell'

This is Arjun as a child and during New Years Eve, he celebrated his teenage birthday. He managed to complete his Creative Genius aspiration before aging up. In addition to his 'Active' personality, Arjun has become a 'Maker' and hopes to become a 'Master Maker' someday. Arjun also gets along well with his siblings and is looking forward to his high school years of studying, making new friends and attending prom. His favorite colors are Red, Pink, Green, Gray, Orange and likes the decor styles of

Basics, Farmhouse, Cosmolux, Storybook, Industrial, Shabby, Luxe, and Mid Century..

Arjun sporting one of his stylish 'Formal' outfits. He prefers the Boho, Outdoorsy, Polished, Sporty, MeUndies styles although the last two are not listed in CAS.

Meet Darnell who is busy doing his homework.  Like his older brother, Arjun he also wants to become a 'Creative Genius'.  He has the 'Practice Makes Perfect' and has found out the he loves to play the piano and plans to focus on fitness when he grows up.  Nothing is really known about his background as he was adopted  from the local orphanage.

Meet little 'Mariah' who is a cautious little girl who has the infant can be quite 'Gassy' at time and is a ' Feeding Tinkler' much to the dismay of those her feed her, none the less, her new father, Leroy loves her to pieces

This is a partial view of the downstairs hobby area. There's space for a future bed and bathroom where I may put a hot tub.

Poor Scotch, I almost forgot to post a picture of him. Scotch is a terrier mix (I think as he didn't come with a specific breed). He loves to play, go on adventures when someone has time to take him and loves to talk (Vocal).

Hope you're having a wonderful evening.  Tonight I am introducing another "Orphan Sim' household and his story and recent candid photos of each family member as a means of introducing them and their personalities.  Here we go.

MATHEW’S NEW FAMILY

 Mathew was just a young infant when his single father suffered a tragic accident and passed away due the severity of his injuries. The social worker who was assigned to search for relatives who might be willing to take care of him.  Fortunately, they found, Bria Castle who was a sister to Mathew’s father, was located living in tropical islands of  Sunlit Tides with her partner, Felix Patton and the son they had together, Vikram.  When she was notified of her brother's sudden death, she was more than willing to adopt her nephew.  Since Felix had recently been hired as Conservationist in beach community of Sulani, Mathew’s new family decided to move there and had a nice beach house built that also had lots of space for the pets Bira adopted over the years since moving to Sulani.

Although they are romantic partners, Bria and Felix have had a rocky relationship due to Felix’s busy career that kept them from giving each other the love and support that is needed to keep a relationship.  After Mathew joined the family, Felix and Bria had worked on their  relationship and had gotten to the point where they decided to get married.  Over the years things went south, and they divorced but for the sake of their children decided to continue living together. Since then,  Felix and Bria have decided to work on their relationship, and they have slowly renewed their love for each other.  Other members of the family include Bria's three cats and her dog.  Will introduce them more next time as I forgot to take photos of them.

Meet Mathew who has recently started school. He was both a 'Top Notch' infant and toddler who maxed all of his toddler skills before his birthday.. He is always cheerful and wants to make many friends by becoming a 'Social Butterfly'. This shouldn't be a problem for Mathew since he loves to talk to everyone he meets. He loves the colors of Brown, Purple, Gray, Pink, Black and is showing an interest in fitness. Mathew is also best friends with his older brother, Vikram.

Meet Mathew's Aunt Bria and now his adoptive mother, Bria Castle, who in this candid shot is enjoying the music playing from the family room stereo. After many years of living near the ocean in Sunlit Tides with her partner, Felix Patton and now on a private island in Sulani, Bria considers herself a 'Child of the Ocean' as does Felix who grew up on a tropical island. She is also an 'Animal Enthusiast at heart and wants to befriend as many cats and dogs as possible by becoming 'Friend of the Animals'. It is probably due to her 'jealous' tendencies that Bria's romantic relationship with Felix is always running either hot or cold which has put a strain on their family. She hopes to work through these insecure feelings by talking them out with Felix and hopes to be able to fully trust him someday enough to renew their vows with each other.

Bria has been a 'Stay-at-Home-Mom' to both Mathew and Vikram while they were growing up but has recently accepted a position in the Painter career now that Mathew is in grade school while Vikram just had his first day of high school. In her spare time, Bria loves to gardening and cook while also caring for the needs of the three cats she adopted from the local shelter whose names are Precious, Asparagus' and Bo. The family also adopted an Akita/Poodle cross dog named, Tasha. Due to living on a private island in Sulani, Bria purchased a vet table and surgery station so that she could learn the veterinary skill and treat any illnesses her pets come with from home.

Here Bria is taking care of the fleas that were having a party in Tasha's fur and making the poor dog miserable.

Meet Felix who is fixing the dryer so that the clothes that are inside will dry. Besides being a 'Child of the Ocean', Felix's 'materialistic' ways causes him to buy new for his home from time to time. Being a 'loner', he also likes to spend time alone especially by sunbathing in the sun on a beach towel. His lifetime aspiration is to enjoy all there is to enjoy about 'Beach Life' and works to keep the oceans clean in his 'Conservationist' career.

For 'Talk Like a Pirate' day, Mathew & Vikram went to the Oasis Springs park to meet new friends using the pirate greeting, 'Ahoy Matey'. and share some 'Yarns' with them.

Here's a close up of Vikram getting all decked out for high school. Vikram is all for the environment by being a 'Green Fiend' and is also 'Romantically Reserved' but is keeping an eye open for his future soulmate. As a child, Vikram completed one of aspirations by becoming a 'Rambunctious' Scamp and hopes to an 'Admired Icon in high school and seems to be off to a good start as he is already becoming quite popular in his class. His favorite colors are blue, green, black, gray and white. As for decor, Vikram is not too fussy but is partial to the Basics, Island, Suburban, Mission, Mid Century, Vintage, Shotgun, Holidays, Queen Anne, and Boho styles,

Vikram arriving for his first day at Copperdale High.. Although the weather wasn't so hot with heavy rains, he had a great day making new friends .

It was kind and caring of Matthew’s Aunt to adopt him after the death of his Dad 💗I hope that Bria and Felix will be able to continue on renewing and building up their relationship.  It is great that Matthew and Vikram are best friends. I hope that Natthew will go well in his school studies. It was a good idea for Bria to learn the veterinarian skill to help to treat their pets.
