Sims 4: Get Famous

So long as they cancel out the ability to become a celebrity just by talking to one. I would prefer they be more rare and special in the game.

I want a full band too. One that has a lead singer.

I'd also like the ability to BE the paparazzi and chase down celebrities, sell photos of them for big bucks etc.

PS: I wouldn't consider being a youtuber as a form of celebrity status. Something the sims could do for fun, yes, but not be a celebrity.

I'd like a cross between TS1 Superstar and TS3 Late Night. So I'd like:

Fashion:
Model career. A catwalk. Fashion design career (like the stylist from Ambitions). Sketching. Also the sewing machine from TS2 Freetime. New 'couture' or 'high fashion' clothing category. Celebrities and snob sims would be more likely to talk to sims in 'high fashion', and you'd have a better chance of getting into venues.

Film
Acting and Writer/Director branches. Sims could write plays, films and t.v shows and have them acted out by actors on stage or sets, like the bard in Medieval or the actors in TS1 Superstar. Instead of having premade sets, maybe we could decorate the sets ourselves like the show floor in Showtime.

Musician
I imagine this working in a similar way to the Late Night bands, only they should also have a singer!!! You could mix and match instruments to make your own band, so if you want a singer with three guitarists, or a string quartet, a jazz band, or a barber shop quartet, you should be able to do this. So I guess they would need set songs where each instrument is recorded separately, so they could be layered depending on which instruments you select for your band. Like in Late Night bands should be able to perform at venues with a show floor, or even randomly around town. Then I'd love the recording studio back from TS1 Superstar. Also the sets and video cameras from the film career could be used to create music videos too! \o/

Celebrity System
Similar to Late Night in that you could be a celebrity for any reason as long as you have enough fame points and connections. So you could be a celebrity chef, or even a popular gamer or 'simtuber' as suggested above. Only, I agree with the comment that there needs to be some kind of opt-in/opt-out feature for being a celebrity per sim. As I don't want ALL my sims to be celebrities. Celebs should get perks like free stuff and being able to get into any venues.

Exclusive Venues
These should be customisable by the player and work in a similar way to the clubs. Any venue should be customisable. Maybe we do this by adding a rope, bouncer, ticket machine, or special door to the lot. So if we want to create a gym exclusively for gorgeous celebrities, we could do so. Or if we want a restaurant only for rich food-snobs, we could do that too (oh... we also need restaurants).


So yeah, if we got a celeb expansion like that I'd be thrilled!!! B)

I'm not concerned in the slightest with my own Sims getting famous, but I'd love to have celebs walking around that my Sims could fanboy/girl over, lol. Asking for autographs or pictures, or taking a selfie with them, that sort of thing. That'd be cute and adorable.

I would like it if it were more like The sims 1 Superstar - that game had such a sarcastic look at fame and the media. I thought Showtime was too... nice. It was the Hollywood narrative of fame and celebrity which felt too fake to me.

That said at 8 I wanted to be a magician (and still at 24 kind of which I tried that) so there's some points there.

Everything @Cinderellimouse says! Plus I'd like a theatre where my Sims can go see the movies other Sims made, and have popcorn, and make out in the back row.

Oh! And an awards event and red-carpet premieres would be fun :) And I'd like to be able to use the GT system to make fan clubs for in-game individual celebrities!

a royal family 'like' the British royal family. So that your 'normal' sims can try to get into the royal family

Whatever it is, I would love for them to surprise us with something never before seen like the Clubs system in Get Together. I like their current approach with the expansion packs and would hate to see them go back to the usual rinse-repeat standard.

I'd also like to add my two cents into the conversation... I would love to see such venues like- recording studio, acting academy, and an awards theater with red carpet, paparazzi, and fashion police NPCs. Maybe a new feature on the TV- "Watch Awards Ceremony LIVE". It would happen randomly when you click on the TV your Sim could watch the show from the comforts of their living room. If your Sim is a celebrity on the red carpet you had interactions like- "sign autographs, pose for paparazzi, interview with celeb media, give award speech (if your Sim won an award in the career branch to receive promotions and advance further in their career). New party event for celebrities where our Sims got to meet other celebs, film directors, record producers, etc. to gain celeb points to also advance further in their career.

As for fashion- I feel it should be its own game pack with two interactive career branches "Fashion Career"- Model/Fashion Designer. A new venue would be a modeling agency. The fashion designers styled their own fashions in their own studio at home. And have pop-up runway shows that took place in the community park that our sims who were models had to attend, or if our sims who were designers held to showcase their fashions.

I could have sworn there was a YouTube-like feature in TS4 that was called SimTube, and sims had the ability to browse or watch "SimTube" on their computers and tablets, but I can't seem to find this feature, so I'm not sure if I've been imagining it this whole time or what... :#
But anyway, if they ever did anything like you suggested, I think something like SimTube or SimsTube would be a good idea for a name. :)
