I wanted to attempt to complete one challenge each month this year. We'll see how that goes. I missed January and got sick during Valentine's week which is when I wanted to start this challenge. ...
Let’s see where the relationships stand in anticipation of today’s solo date.
Eric and Morgan are now friends. Their sentiments are that "they are growing closer from spending quality time together". Jasmine and Eric have also become friends. Eric and Kaley have become good friends. And they’ve started a romance relationship on their own! They are romantic interests: it’s too early to tell, but there could definitely be something there. Ooo lala
Finally, getting some action happening. But that’s not the focus of today. Today are our first one-on-one (solo) dates.
Each bachelorette will go on a “Get to Know You” date with our bachelor. Dates run about 3 hours in game. Each date will be at a park -- a neutral, public space. We’ll start the first date at 8am and get through as many as we can by midnight. There will only be time for four dates which is perfect considering 3 bachelorettes are friends of the bachelor’s and the other 4 are not.
Each date will have the same goals: Socialize - Friendly, Socialize - Funny, Food or Drink, Star or Cloud Gazing
The dates will go in the following order (from lowest to highest): Scarlet, Zuri, Leah, Valentina, Morgan, Jasmine, Kaley
These dates won’t have any romance directed at anyone through me. They're friendly and all about seeing who clicks with Eric, who really wants to be here, and who isn’t feeling it. Any romantic actions that happen autonomously are fine. This is each bachelorette’s chance to show Eric that she’s worth keeping around because tomorrow is Elimination Day.
Date #1
Bachelorette: Scarlet
Location: Duke’s Hall, Chestnut Ridge
Crap! I’ve already run into a problem. Scarlet can’t go on an official date with Eric because they don’t have a high enough positive relationship. All I can do is have them travel together. But I’ll keep the directed actions to the above goals.
Eric takes Scarlet to Duke’s Hall park in Chestnut Ridge because she love horses. The plan is to get breakfast and pet horses. Hopefully being in an environment she enjoys will open her up. Gulp. Eric’s checking his phone and Scarlet is hangry. This isn’t getting off to a good start.
Scarlet: FEED ME!!!
I get it, girl. There’s a food stall and bar, but neither are open this early. Sadly, there aren’t any horses either. Eric tries to make conversation, but Scarlet pulls her phone out in a reverse uno. *facepalm* Well, I guess it’s good television.
Scarlet seems interested in talking about video games. She gets really into telling Eric about her dream vacation. Eric shares his. Scarlet thinks climbing Mt. Komorebi is frightening, not fun. After he finishes, they fall into silence.
Welp. This screenshot sums up this date.
Eric asks how her day’s going. Kind of a dumb question, considering that last screenshot.
Eric: Sooo… How’s your day going?
Scarlet: How do you think? There’s no food and no horses.
Eric: Let’s look at the bright side.
Scarlet: I haven’t cannibalized you, yet?
Eric: … um, yeah?
For some reason, I couldn’t get the option to cloud gaze to come up. The mixologist finally came, but the date had already gone on for over 4 hours so I ended it. We can't spend all day on them; we've got several dates to get to.
Date #2
Bachelorette: Zuri
Location: Myshuno Meadows, San Myshuno
For date #2, Eric and Zuri are going to Myshuno Meadows park in San Myshuno. Zuri is a city girl so she’ll feel more comfortable in an urban environment. First thing Eric asks her how she’d survive a zombie apocalypse. She thinks it’s a weird question.
… But not that weird because, unlike Scarlet, she keeps the conversation going.
Zuri: I’m not surviving; I’m out as soon as it begins. All I ask is that I not become a zombie.
Eric: I’m finding a supermarket I can fortify. All the food and resources I need to live for years are there.
Zuri: You and every other person within the area. You don’t have to worry about zombies because the humans will get you first.
Eric: Good point. You’ve given this some thought. I'd be stupid not to have you on my zombie survival team.
The two develop a mischief dynamic between them and scare each other over and over again. (Honestly, it’s a little annoying.) Oh no!! “Zuri has left the date after receiving too many mean or mischievous interactions from Eric.” sigh
We’re taking Leah to Mt. Komorebi because she’s a creative type who’d be inspired by the area’s natural beauty.
Eric asks her what causes she cares about. Leah loves this question. (Opps! I didn’t pay attention to the heart in front of the question. I just thought it was an interesting question. It’s a romantic interaction. Sorry. I will not click on any more romantic interactions at all.)
Kaley calls Eric during his date. Girl, tryin’ to keep things in check! Reminding him where his mind should be. Hint: on her.
Leah and Eric hug. And they hug again. Again. Again…
THEY KISSED WHAT THE– *faints* I swear I didn’t make them do anything. They were just having small talk and I looked away for a moment.
Ok, Miss Leah is not here to make friends, y’all. She said I’m here to win. You better play the game! Things are getting steamy and out of control. I need to pull the reins. Discuss interests! This is not discussing interests! What kind of interests are you discussing? It better not have anything to do with positions!
They are the first I’ve gotten to eat together and star gaze. That date went well… too well. Nothing I can do about it now. Leah secured her spot.
Date #4
Bachelorette: Valentina
Location: Hare and Hedgehog Cafe, Windenburg
We have time for one last date today. Valentina still has a low relationship so she is up next. (Geez, the way these things have been getting progressively better, she’s gonna be pregnant by the end of the night.) Anyhoo, it’s 11pm. Much too late to hang out at a park. Instead, Eric and Valentina go to Hare and Hedgehog Cafe in Windenburg.
Their date is pretty chill. No drama in either direction. They stargaze right before it starts to snow. Both are sleepy, but they have good conversation. Honestly, they are just cute and sweet together.
They get the most hyped while debating the existence of vampires. It's nice to end on a chill, drama-free, no surprises, just a good time date.
They actually get a silver medal date which is the highest of the day! I’m happy that we got through four dates. The last three don’t need a date to get to know Eric because they already have gotten to know him. But they will be the first on the next one-on-ones.
Alright, that's where we end tonight. Next episode we'll say goodbye to one unlucky bachelorette. See you there!
