There's needs to be some food assigning to Sims

If we have roomies now why would their be assigned food. Ukupanipo Hekekia had to leave for work before finishing making his breakfast. I finished it since my Simself had on her day of. My Sim almost straight on ate it, for being hungry and had cereal. I reset her to stop that and put it in the fridge. Alex came to make her breakfast and she did, but went for Uku's food for later. The should be more commited to what they make.

I would also like some sort of system for the meals. Instead of Sims grabbing a plate automatically even if they are hungry you get a choice to set the table with the food/place the plate of food with 4 or more servings in the middle of table for everyone to grab. Once food is placed on the table call to meal can be selected and everyone can come and eat once they grab their food at the table.

Another option that would be nice is a call to sit where everyone will come and sit down at the table and another option of lets eat can be chosen and then everyone will eat at the table. To be able to set drinks and a favorite chair to sit at when eating would be nice as well. This would really work for holidays/formal dinner parties. I really dislike that the Sims that make the food always take a plate when they are hungry; that's the point to make food when your hungry, but wait for your family to come.

In TS2 it was possible for sims to have nice family meals together, not sure why it's impossible to do the same in TS4. I hate that they autonomously go straight for the fridge and that I need to fight them over choice of food, and that they don't eat together when you call them to meal.

I have come to the realisation that if I play single sims, it is better to not have leftovers. Just have them cook single serve meals and as a bonus they also get to increase their cooking skills faster due to cooking more often. I don't really mind that they eat leftover cookies instead of turkey for dinner but they tend to get fat whenever they eat too many cooked leftover foods.

I agree, I've thought it be great to set the table too.
For some reasons it's a skipped moment of time without a destinated time. I don't think Sims choose their food randomly on purpose, it depends the time of day when you que the fridge with.
It's more reason for the survey be more than talk for NPCs. There's no way to tell roommates to set the table. Great for lazies, if there was.
