@Mak27 Thank you! And no, pre-teens never really interested me as we have so many ages for younger ages. I mean we have five life stages to represent the first 30 or so years of life, but only two for the remaining 60, and with elders seeming so very old in game that can only cover the last 10-15 years at the most. That means a sim looks like 35 and can keep having babies until they're about 69 years old, then boom they're old. For me, it makes sense with an in-between where they can no longer have kids, where their metabolism slows down, where their hair thins and goes a bit gray, and where they have their mid-life crisis and takes the time to finish up their aspirations.
On the other hand, I do want teens to act younger - they are far too adult in game, so I do get where the wish for pre-teens comes from. Kids go from being kids to being near adults in one go, but I believe that the best way to approach that would be to make teens behave more like teens and less like young adults rather than introducing a whole new life stage. More aspirations that are only available to teens, more activities for them to do, different needs (social need would be decaying much faster for instance), more phases and wilder phases, things like sneaking out, hanging out with friends... Then again, I wouldn't object to pre-teens per say, it's more that I doubt EA would introduce two new life stages and in that choice, mid-adults seem much more useful to me.
@MichelleW I agree that seasons should be basegame, as long as you can turn off weather and random holidays for those who do not want either.
