Oooh, I hadn't seen this thread before!
I added a few things earlier in separate posts. I'll try and summarise and include links to the full posts 🙂
- Creating, saving and sharing custom Styled Looks
- Create custom styled looks
- Save custom styled looks
- Share custom styled looks to the gallery
- Download and save styled looks from the gallery
- Updates to neighbourhoods and secret lots
- (Not sure how possible) Open neighbourhoods (not open world). Just being able to freely visit all the lots in each neighbourhood without loading screens
- Implement "Edit neighbourhood" button. To allow us to use the Build/Buy catalogue in neighbourhoods to improve the surrounding areas
- Same above for secret locations (Sylvan Glade, Forgotton Grotto, etc) as they are empty, boring and pointless.
- Update the secret lots to make them less boring, empty, and pointless. They haven't been touched since release I don't think.
- Make all rivers/lakes/etc compatible with swimming. Some areas still don't have access to the water.
- Add randomly spawning world events in neighbourhoods
- Ice cream van coming by in summer
- Travelling merchants
- Musicians doing street performances or small festivals
- Random jogging or cycling groups
- Group bonfires
- etc
- Update the Seasons calendar
- Would be nice to be able to select from some festival presets for what you want your sims to celebrate (eg. pagan calendar, Christan calendar, Islamic calendar, etc)
- Options to completely turn off notifications for all the common events (eg; High School Years, Snowy Escape, Cottage living, etc) they get really irritating being so repetative.
- More holiday traditions to pick from when creating or editing an event.

Improved Genetics
Dominant & Recessive Genes – Traits like eye and hair color could follow dominant/recessive logic, allowing rare traits to appear if both parents carry them. Like in Sims 2.
Grandparent Influence – Children could inherit traits that skip a generation, such as a grandparent’s hair, eye color, or facial features.
Updated Hair Color Percentages – In the current system, some eye colors share the same probability. For example, green eyes and hazel eyes have the same chance of being passed down, so a hazel-eyed parent can have a green-eyed child. If this level of detail exists for eyes, the same logic should apply to hair. Hair shades that are close to each other — such as dark blonde ↔ light brown, dark copper ↔ light copper, or dark brown ↔ black — should be interchangeable in inheritance to create more natural and varied results.

Updated Neighborhood Stories
Autonomous Marriage
Unplayed Sims should be able to get married entirely on their own, without the player needing to manually orchestrate every relationship. Imagine checking in on a neighborhood after a few weeks and finding that two Sims you never paired up are now happily married. This would breathe life into the game world, allowing family lines to grow naturally and creating those “I didn’t see that coming!” storytelling moments.
Realistic Breakups & Divorce
Just like in real life, not all relationships last forever. Sims should have the ability to autonomously separate or divorce if their relationship deteriorates. This change would allow neighborhoods to have richer, more unpredictable stories — one household might be going through a happy expansion, while another faces the emotional fallout of a breakup.
Moving Out & Creating New Households
Once Sims reach a certain age — particularly teens nearing adulthood or young adults — they should be able to branch out and start lives of their own. This would not only keep the neighborhood evolving but also prevent “stagnant family syndrome,” where multiple generations are stuck living under one roof unless the player intervenes. With this feature, we could see natural generational turnover, more housing market movement, and fresh storylines without player micromanagement.
Joining Other Households
Sometimes life leads people into completely new living arrangements — through marriage, friendship, or other circumstances. Sims should be able to autonomously move in with friends, partners, or extended family members, resulting in more diverse and unexpected household compositions. - sailorleontine3 months agoSeasoned Ace
I know we have a winter coat but how about a rain coat?
The Sims 2 had them so why not The Sims 4?
Someone mentioned this awhile back

Everyone wants this including me but i doubt that will ever happen😥😥
Someone created that topic not that long ago but it disabled the comments and got merged with an already existing topic instead
So i'm afraid they won't disable the button card

Relationship Pane : Visit and Join a Sim
Instead of searching which lot is the house of a NPC sim from the World Map, the player could click on this NPC in the Relationship pane in order to teleport a sim to the NPC house.
In addition if this NPC sim is actually visiting a venue, an option to join should be available.

Albino trait
Randomly assigned to baby (rare), this trait should give white hair and pale skin to this sim.
An Albino sim can't tan and shouldn't expose their skin on sunny days because of sunburn.

More small pets! Snakes, lizards, birds, turtles, you name it.
