What I would like to see in The Sims 4 is a more realistic behavior in played households autonomously actions. When playing a large household some members are eventually left to their own devices, and their behavior is unbelievable and occasionally completely idiotic.
This behavior makes gamers ask for unnecessary restrictions to the game, me included.
My eldest member of the household, has in the current house seen 19 fires, despite serious safety precautions has been applied, and that is only from the fireplace.
I have locked doors, fenced off areas, and is constantly cancelling weird actions for household members, but they never learn despite their skills.I like a challenge but this is almost too much. My eldest sim think about the long gone days, when he was a young adult and a bachelor, life was much better then, now he long for the reaper.

A spellcaster secondary form. One to blend in, and one more or less for the magical realm/at home. This would be great to eliminate the spellcaster situation outfit issue, and just have a "spellcaster form; with spellcaster clothes".
With this the addition of cloaks and more magical/witchy looking CAS that isn't Halloween campy. Maybe more eye/head decoration CAS items so people can make their spellcasters look more like magical creatures (similar idea to fairies but as a spellcaster).
A Chores Assignment Chart would be a great game feature. Then there could be a rewards system, like allowances, when weekly chore goals are achieved.
This would tie in perfectly with another player-requested feature: Banking. Allowances earned through chores could go into assigned piggy banks. Families could save up for family vacations with a Vacation Savings Account, and so forth.
⏳ Lifepath
Unlike Lifestyles (which track current actions), Lifepaths would be a permanent "Social DNA" forged by the environment a sim grows up in.
Similar to Character Values, from Teen to Young Adult, the game would define the Lifepath based on three factors :
- World Type (3 entries): Urban (Street kid), Suburban, or Rural (Countryside kid)
- Financial Status (3 entries): Struggling (Rags), Comfortable, or Affluent (Riches).
- Home (5 entries): Lot Size (From Tiny Home to 64x64) or Dynamic (Nomad).
World Type and Financial Status (at day 1) would define 9 Lifepath and Home would define 5 Location Preferences (For example a sim who grew up in 64x64 lot will feel claustrophobic in a Tiny Home). This system includes a primary and secondary lifepath as the origin and the direction choice.
In CAS instead of selecting the lifepath, the players could set these 3 factors (World of Origin, Childhood Financial Status and Childhood Home)
Rags-to-Riches would feel different, as New Money these sims will remember that they started with nothing.
In addition to Lifepath, I would add :
- Traits :
- Traditionalist Trait: Refuse to leave the origin. Stuck in the primary Lifepath (Born and died as a Street Kid)
- Shape-Shifter Trait: Need to change, ability to adapt quickly. Born as a Nomad but became a Corpo.
- Lifepath perks/skills
- Evolution Reward Traits : Capturing the progression. For example Rags-To-Riches proves the ability to succeed financially but the opposite is a financial disaster. Evolving from Street kid to Countryside shows the desire to escape the city, evolving from Countryside to Nomad shows the desire of freedom and exploration.
- Nomad Careers : Giving a valid reason to move out. Triggering Nomad lifepath. For example Circus career.
The idea is :
- Use the environment as a memory of the origin
- Create a specific dynamic between sims. For example new social interactions between Old Money sim and "Rags-to-Riches" sim.
- Define different ways to see the world : For example Street kid is more aware about fashion and trends than Countryside kid who is more aware about local traditions and local food.

✒️ Narrative Engine :
The game still control the sims but respect the player area and become cooperative. In order to reach this goal I propose these features :
- Custom Relationship / Dynamics : More than label the player defines how it works, only assigned by the players.
- Allowed / Banned social interactions : The players define how two sims should interact in this custom relationship
- Reactions : Instead of an angry reaction when a partner is cheating, this custom relationship could set a sad, disappointed or happy reaction.
- Static or Progressive : Set it as a transition for example from best friend to spouse or from spouse to enemy.
- Pinned Memory : Use specific memories to influence sims personality
- Pinned Mood : Maintaining a specific emotion without being neutralized by random moodlets.
- Narrative Spotlight : A way telling to the game something important is happening, temporarily disable NPC autonomy
- Object Meaning :
Grim Reaper's diary or The Book of Life of a sim specific should mean something to the sims (curiosity, rarity, ...). This feature would set a meaning for a specific sim, group or everybody. For example it could be historical objects linked to Cordelia, then Thebes and Capps would fight to get them back in their family.
- Custom Relationship / Dynamics : More than label the player defines how it works, only assigned by the players.

And now that I'm playing a family again, I'd really like to be able to assign chores (household jobs/roles) to the kids.

(I'd rather not pay it if I can, but I agree. lol)
CAS
- Antennae- this could be under the hat category or the new head decoration category. It should be available for sims infant and up and have diffrent shapes, lengths designs and colors. This would be good for a quirky sim as some sort of headband hidden under hair, and if you have get to work it is PERFECT for alien sims, or really any fantasy sim you want to add
- Horns and antlers- once again perfect for the head decoration category, you could easily give these to your base game sims to add a bit of spice. Or fancy up the plant sims to make them more nature themed. Or it could be for a kids Halloween costume. They would also go great with the enchanted by nature and get to work pack
- Tails- maybe your child's a furry maybe theyre a werewolf growing into themselves. Honestly I hate that werewolves are tailess, it looks sad and depressing and EA should have at least GIVEN us the option of a tail.
- Unique ears- fantasy ears are fun what can I say. Having unique non human ears for diffrent animals or diffrent types of elf ears instead of the pointy ones would be pretty cool. I know the furry sims players out there would appreciate
- Infant clothing- as the newest life stage infants are still very lacking in some outfits. Id love to see more styles for each category of outfit for the infants as well as new hairs
- Better lashes- the Sims 4 lashes are very....blocky, there are so many cute maxis match lashes that look adorable while keeping the more cartoons style,id love a little inexpensive set with some diffrent styles and diffrent colors
- More male hairs- our boys have been neglected in the hair department and there are many gorgeous male cc hairs out there
- Heterocromia- some sort of scar or skin overlay that allows for your sim to have heterochromia
- More eye colors- hopefully some of those really beautiful eye cc start coming in, it would be amazing to see on some of these sims
- Sin overlays- there are some stunning skin overlays that really bring life to a sim and make them so beautiful. It'd be lovely to see
- Although jewlery- more out there alt jewlery. Cool face piercings, or even stuff like belly piercings would be cool to see
- More hats- the hats we have in game are kind of lacking. Id love to see more alternative or styled hats that fit diffrent genres of clothing
- Alt hair- more alternative hair styles like wolfcuts, scene hairs, dyed hairs, funky styles, Mohawk, rocker styles ect.
- More black hairstlyes- black hairstyles, especially woman's are gorgeous and id love to see more of the amazing unique styles
- Male clothing- we need better lame clothing my goodness, diffrent styles and genres please we are LACKING
BB
- more pop culture posters- like posters of popular famous sims, in-game shows, maybe alien themed posters or fantasy poster
- More clutter and decorations for each room, I want the house to feel lived in
- Spiral stairs

Without the ability to assign seats around a dining table, I end up with the kind of chaos that I saw recently when 6 kids were doing homework, then grabbing leftovers, then doing extra credit homework. There were 8 seats at the table, and the parents were standing, helping various kids with their homework.
The kids started at slightly different times and completed their homework at slightly different rates, so one would finish, go to the fridge, and sit down somewhere else to eat. Then another would finish, go to the fridge, and sit down somewhere else to eat. And so on, until one would finish eating, clear their dishes, and sit down somewhere else to do extra credit homework. And so on.
It just looks so weird to have them bouncing around from one seat to another like that.

I like that. I often edit my Sims outfits in CAS to look more like a real wardrobe. For example, instead of different shoes for every outfit, they might have only 2 or 3 pairs of shoes. And their hot weather outfits might double as their everyday outfits (they live in Oasis Springs). And their party outfit and their dressy outfit might be the same except for a few accessories.

🧺 Lot Challenge: "Wardrobe Restricted"
Back to The Sims 2 with its Wardrobe system, the same idea as Simple Living lot challenge, clothing could become a finite resource :
- Storage in closet/dresser/costume trunk/suitcase (lot storage like bookshelf)
- Unavailable clothes due to laundry
- Common wardrobe between household members (controlled sims only)
- Borrowing punctually clothes (between daughter/mother, siblings or romantic partners)
- Passing on to younger siblings (a teen boy giving his childhood clothes to his young brother who is a child)
- Ability to sell clothes or donate to charity
- Ability to gift clothes to somebody
- Ability to purchase clothes for other household members (toddler, infant, pets)
Gameplay only for the players, NPC townies and the game wouldn't be allowed to use this system in order to avoid chaos.
