A new idea I've had recently
So, I absolutely love the sim stories however, please can we have it where you make a child using genetics BUT you can still create their stories?

Agreed, that would be handy. It's frustrating that if you make a sim then want to add their parents or adult children, you can't give them skills and careers when they would realistically have them. It's the same with teens and children, some skills would be handy.
As a side note, I noticed recently that I couldn't even have 2 "story" generated sims in the same household but I used to be able to, so I don't know if it's a mod conflict or an update.
Personally I would really love to be able to set skills and careers without having to go through the quiz, and would love to be able to do those things for sims of all ages (according to their age). For example, perhaps each age range should have a range of benefits that can be applied in CAS.
Oh that is interesting! I essentially made my family, including my cat, and my parents had sim stories and then I married them so that sounds like it could be a bug?? Or maybe my end was a glitch? But let's hope we see some form of this idea in the next update/patch!
I use MCCC to give my CAS family some skills right out of CAS. It is absurd that a set of parents and their kids have 0 skills when starting the game. I don't play Sim Stories, so I know nothing about that.
I've occasionally used MCCC to give them some skills too. It's much better than sitting through the quiz and hoping to get what you want.
