Active Trait and other Obsessive Behavior

My sims like to work out before they take care of their kids or any other priority in the game.
I give them the active trait so they stay fit and workout. It's broken in the game causing excessive exercising everywhere with gym equipment or just...freestyle pushups and stretches...This is an old flaw and a bug in game for me.
I like my sims to stay fit too but I end up removing the active trait because excessive exercise is a huge understatement. I know the problem has been around a long time and I suppose I am hoping that if enough people would help bring attention to this problem again, maybe they will finally do something about it. I think my suggestion would be fairly easy to put in. After all there is something like it in already in a way. Sims know when they are hungry and so they go eat (usually). They don't go back for food until they are hungry again. Seems like this same system could be implemented for exercising and the other obsessive behavior I mentioned.
