I NEED to change 'M' to something else because I always press it instead of '<', it's really annoying and disrupts my gameplay!

May I suggest that you look a little closer at what keys you press. Remember that this is not a shooter game where you have to be fast. In The Sims 4 there is no rush so you have plenty of time to look at the keyboard to see what key you hit. Besides what do you use the < key for? In all the years I have played The Sims 4 I have had no use for that but plenty of times needed the M key.
I use '<' and '>' to turn my camera, so I don't look when I press them. Reflexes.
