Maybe giving us a way to edit and fix our Family Trees would be useful? We know what the relationships should be. Or a way to turn the Family Trees menu off, so we can just ignore it.
No idea how the underlying systems work, but given all the really weird and awkward Family Trees that Simmers are seeing in their longtime games, I'm guessing it's not simple.
What I'd really like to know is if it's safe to just ignore it all and go on with my game or if I should assume this is a game killer. I've been playing the same saved game for a very long time. Albeit very slowly. I rotate between lots of households.
Long ago - I think around the time Get Together came out - our Sims were suddenly married to Unknown Spouses instead of their actual spouses. This is when I decided to start using MCCC, because it allowed me to "fix" these relationships. I ended up feeling it was a lost cause and that's when I started my current saved game. I did use some of the household from that save to seed my new save. The problem is: The Sims 4 is soooo much bigger now.
Dilemma. Wish the team could give us a bit of guidance.

Yes, editing and fixing family trees at an edit/manage world level is just really needed or there is hardly a point to having such a flawed system X /
