The Marketplace pop ups are constant! They block the actual gameplay pop ups and I'm constantly having to scroll over the marketplace icon. I get you need to use them for in-game advertising, but can they at least be less frequent? If I see a pop up about a tea party one more time....
I posted this in another thread that was originally posted 7 months ago, but it was moved to Feedback. Respectfully, there is no way what is happening now is intentional. It blocks the notifications 99% of the time, which makes the game basically unplayable. What’s happening —
The shopping cart text bubble pop up has been showing up constantly (I noticed a few days ago and hadn’t played for a week, so perhaps a more recent update caused it). The popup used to show up when I loaded into the game and maybe every hour or so. Annoying but manageable, because I could get it to go away after clicking on it, going to the store, and closing out of it. But now, it's there constantly. If I hover over it, it goes away. But then comes back a few seconds later. I’m not exaggerating when I say a few seconds. I noticed it only reappears that quickly when in Live mode unpaused. When the game is paused, it doesn’t appear to come back.
Sims team - please don’t move this to feedback because something has clearly changed very recently. I can’t imagine that this would be intentional.
Same. Mine isn't just for marketplace either, it's all of the packs. This has been happening for a while, but it used to go away after I clicked on it, went to the store, and closed out of it. But now, it's there constantly. If I hover over it, it goes away. But then comes back a few seconds later. It's blocking the notifications, which is very frustrating. It makes it not fun to play. Also, it's spam. I've spend hundreds of dollars on this game - I shouldn't need to dismiss ads this like.
I finally got to play for a longer stretch again (thanks to the rain😁). And the advertising is even worse than I could have imagined in my original post from 8 days ago!!!😱 These pop-ups appear with EVERY notification on the bulletin board, with EVERY change of household member, with EVERY switch from Live to Buy/Build mode.
My first post on this topic was moved from the bug section to the feedback section (and as far as I can see, not just mine). Okay, here's the feedback:
The frequency mentioned above is definitely too high. Have you ever thought about a balanced approach between gameplay and advertising? This involves compromises, such as limiting pop-ups to a maximum of every 4 hours of gameplay (not Sims hours).
Who exactly is the target audience? I, and many other regular customers, are not – since we already own 99% of the advertised products - Do we still notice the advertising content? Probably not, not even for the 1% we might still be receptive to. Here too, compromises need to be considered: The game knows my content – only advertising for items not purchased would be possible. Add to that the option to mark non-purchased items as "Not interested": And wow, what improved customer/product analysis EA would have! Constantly seeing 60% discount ads for content I've already purchased makes me think about foregoing full-price purchases in the future and waiting for sales. Surely that's not EA's goal, is it? Thinking cynically, I almost have to assume that, due to the high frequency, the target group of inexperienced users and minors is to be put into a hypnotic buying frenzy – what a noble goal!
The installed game is my property – EA has no business interfering with it without my consent.
What is truly the best investment in a good brand name? Improving and ensuring product quality.
I have this issue too and it’s impacting the story play for me. It’s constant and always gets in the way of reading in game notifications. Please fix this.
crinrict, any update on turning off the aggressive in-game ads? I quit playing due to the pop ups about the marketplace happening every single time I attempted to open a save.
EA should ensure that these settings actually fulfill their intended purpose.
According to EA's own definition, the purchase is considered complete upon delivery of the download. Therefore, once downloaded, the game is in my possession and ownership. If I buy a house and move in, the seller doesn't come into my living room to put up advertising posters, does he?
