I believe the devs stated they were removing this cheat as it was contributing to the save degradation glitch.
That's devastating to hear and something they definitely should have made an announcement about 😭
They did announce it here: Community Concerns with Save File Issues - October 2025 Update | EA Forums - 12690410 However, it should also have been in the patch notes and wasn't, which is frustrating.

This forum post has almost 300 views in six days: clearly people are wondering what happened to the cheat. I also had made a forum post about this issue that seems to have strangely disappeared.
I don't think they should have removed the cheat altogether, that materially alters the game. Instead, a reduction in maximum number of units per lot (instead of 99, but obviously much greater than 6) could have been an option. Some lots have 7+ units and now we can't increase it without mods (which I want to avoid).
