@Wyrmelin it seems to be randomly generated but if I want my current Sim to perform I just get them to jump in first and hog the mike/instrument. I do the same thing with yoga teaching... it's the "get out of my way" approach.
If they book a social event at the lot you get to hire a performer of your choice if they are available on the list when setting up the event.
But sometimes my game baffles me by having a non performer Sim bawling away at the microphone. 🤔 It's not good, it's not good at all! Sometimes it's just because they are famous and I can tell you, my celebrity chefs cannot carry tunes!
So it would be handy to have an easier way to choose performers.
