It should be one of two alternatives:
The gendered relationships could either be based on pronouns, OR there should be an ability to customize the term like there is for pronouns.
Forcefully changing everything to neutral terms like "partner" and "spouse" was the wrong and low-effort way to go about it.
For some, especially people in homosexual relationships where there are movements against allowing them to be in their desired relationship, not having gendered words like Husband/Wife/Boyfriend/Girlfriend as an option can be the complete opposite of inclusivity.
Just my thoughts, I think they went about inclusivity the complete wrong way by defaulting them all to generic gender neutral terms, rather than allowing options or basing it on pronouns. Thank you.
