Mother changed after putting kid for adoption with a different girl

So my 2 sims had a baby, but I didn't want to keep the baby so I allowed another family to adopt the baby. For some reason, the mother changed to the adoptive mother. I thought the game would keep the baby's biological mom as the mom but it just rewrote the whole family tree which ruins my story idea. I think this is a weird bug because that's how it works in real life. Yes, the adoptive mother can be seen as the mom but they still has a birth mom

How did you get remove the baby to allow it to be adopted ? Did you have it taken away or are you using mods ?

What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox). Please pick a thread tag for that.

It may be functioning as designed, but the design needs improving. Players have been discussing this for years, our storylines deserve the option to have both the adopted family and the biological family in our tree, especially with the family tree updates from the Royalty pack. Removing the biological tree also unintentionally makes a statement about real-world family dynamics. Please update the family tree design.

I have also posted a discussion about this, they really just dropped the ball for adoption stories. Disappointed but not surprised. I thought that would change with the drama of family trees we get with the royalty pack, but clearly not.
