Neighborhood Stories & Family Progression Feedback

Neighborhood Stories adds life to unplayed households by letting Sims adopt, retire, move, or have children without direct control. It helps the world feel more alive.

Important life events like marriage, divorce, and household changes don’t happen autonomously. This limits natural family progression and forces the player to constantly manage unplayed households to keep family trees evolving.

Marriage: Allow Sims to autonomously marry.

Divorce: Sims should separate if relationships decline.

Moving Out & New Households: Teens/young adults could leave home and create their own households.

Joining Other Households: Sims could move in with others through marriage or life changes.

These additions would make unplayed Sims’ lives more dynamic, allowing families to grow and change organically. It would reduce micromanagement, make family trees more interesting, and create more immersive storytelling across generations.

  • I also wish the move-out prompt based on the number of beds and bathrooms—seeing a 5-person family crammed into a tiny 1-bed, 1-bath house just feels so unrealistic.

  • So true! although WW fixes the attraction issue, but I still want Sims to marry/divorce autonomously.  the activities districts (married or unmarried) will be messy in small businesses (with Businesses & Hobbies) and club stuff (with Get Together)—without that autonomy.
