Packs Merging

Hi everyone, I know that the eternal battle of users is why there are so many Sims 4 packs with a wide catalog that one would say is pride but it is more marketing and that need for abundance that they pretend to give. The Sims 4 packs, with the exception of a few, feel incomplete and could be in other packs, instead of taking ideas from a main branch, they could do pack merging and have a whole idea developed in a pack.

Life and Death, for example, has a variety of characteristics for Ghosts and other things that make it a super fun pack. Otherwise Game packs that include supernatural creatures focus too much on them that they don't explore the full potential of the pack, as an expansion pack would. I have high hopes for the next pack Enchanted by Nature that It is said that it will bring fairies.

I see a possible scenario where we only have Expansion and Stuff Packs (I don't count kits as something important), like in previous Sims games.

with due respect of course but honestly some worlds should merge into one world with Moonwood Mill, Glimmerbrook and Forgotten Hollow rather have its neighbourhood names with each their own thing (maybe even Ravenwood) and with the dark world having its own name👍

and i'd say it match with Spooky, Paranormal and Crystal Creation, maybe even a few dark themed kits which is dark themed related perfectly too (pack name "Dark Occult Living?")

same with pets and animals, maybe only 1 world rather than 3 seperated worlds (speaking for: Brindleton Bay, Henford-On-Bagley and Chestnut Ridge) and rather name those as neighbourhoods (the world needs its own name) the pack name should possibly be: "Village Living" (as for the world name maybe "Farming Town")

date and romantic packs too, no world necessary on this one however though ("Going Out" or "Go Dating" as the pack name?)

worlds like Sulani, Mt Komorebi, Granite Falls, Selvadorada, Tartosa (maybe even Strangerville and Batuu) should be in 1 pack just like The Sims 2 pack that came with 3 vacation worlds (except in The Sims 4 it's with more worlds) i can't think up an ideal name with these ideas

food related pack should be in 1 pack (Home Chef Hustle, Dine Out and Movie Hangout)

to name a few of course

👉conclussion: more lots, more neighbourhoods and lesser worlds👈

so yeah it's my own version with merging things into 1 pack👍

i heard The Sims 3 had different things in 1 pack so it's only fair if The Sims 4 is doing the same thing in my opinion

the tittle may be misleading at first glance but i made my own version with what the team should do since we have so many packs now and i think they should change the tittle too

Is a youtuber encouraging people to spam this idea here or something? This is the 4th or 5th thread I've seen with this same never-gonna-happen idea.

And they already do this, it's called a bundle. You bundle packs you want to get together and get a discount.

that's also possible, maybe a storyline kind of pack? (just a thought)

  • i know it needs fixing to do here and there and the packs needs its overhaul/refreshes so they should focuss on those first and same with basegame before merging into 1 pack

    to name a few:

Family Packs: half of the packs but the main packs are...Parenthood, Growing Together, Toddler, Kids Room and Storybook Nursery

Work and Business: Get To Work, Businesses & Hobbies, Moschino, Get Famous, Nifty Knitting (can't think of other packs at this moment)

Dark themed pack: Vampires, Realm Of Magic, Werewolves, Crystal Creations, Paranormal, Spooky, a few kits and maybe even Life & Death

Animals and Pets: My First Pets, Cats & Dogs, Cottage Living and Horse Ranch

they're just to name a few of course but it needs to be in 1 pack and in different categories

i know it's less likely they'll make it into 1 pack but i thought it doesn't hurt to ask and give it a try, maybe they will consider it in the future in like 2 decades or so later!

especially since Game Packs kind of no longer exist to them (with due respect of course) since it's been like 3 years now when they last created Game Packs

besides they can merge some worlds into 1: Forgotten Hollow, Glimmerbrook, Moonwood Mill and maybe even Ravenwood since we have so many of them (soon to be 29 worlds) it can be lesser in my opinion, more lots lesser worlds and more neighbourhood types rather than just 2 or 3

i know it isnt possible right now but maybe 2 decades later it is, i just wanted to share it right now!

(read my another comment from mine the reason why it should be merged into 1 pack with each its own category, mostly 1 world only and such)

I agree except the Vacation part, I believe Strangerville and Journey to Batuu aren't exactly "vacation" type, they should have their own development at most.

  • not gonna lie, they should merge things in 1 pack at this point if they no longer make things a game pack

like dark themed pack: Vampires, Werewolve, Spellcasters but also Crystal Creations, Paranormal, Spooky, a few dark themed kits and maybe even Life & Death pack turning into 1 pack

Vacation pack: Outdoor Retreat, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Journey To Batuu, island Living and Snowy Escape

Dating pack: Lovestruck, Romantic Garden and My Wedding Stories (minus Tartosa itself which should be a vacation world only)

Animals and Pets pack: My First Pet, Cats & Dogs, Cottage Living and Horse Ranch

it's just to name a few of course

agreed, i want the team to fix everything first, doing refresh like they did with Spa Day and then merge it into 1 big Expansion Pack

    Family Gameplay pack

    Dark Occult pack

    Vacation Pack

    Dating Pack

    etc

we now have lots of them and some pack should be in Basegame

i don't know if they will do that but i'd love the idea to turn the packs into one pack

like you said: Vampires, Realm Of Magic, and Werewolve and maybe even Life and Death because they're all dark themed kind of pack and maybe Crystal Creations, Spooky Stuff, Paranormal, Goth Galore and Grunge Revival since these are giving dark themed vibes and could've match with certain occults

Vacation packs that can turn into 1 pack: Outdoor Retreat, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, island living, Journey To Batuu, Snowy Escape and My Wedding Stories

Love related packs: Romantic Garden, My Wedding Stories and Lovestruck

Family packs: half of the packs which is family related (even some kits)

Works and Businesses pack: Get To Work, Dine Out, Get Famous, Moschino, Discover University, Tiny Living, Nifty Knitting, Eco Lifestyle, High School Years, Home Chef Hustle, and Hobbies & Businesses (possibly even some kits)

they're just to name a few, maybe i'm missing some packs that can be in the category i've mentioned
i honestly don't know why they make things a Game Pack if they're no longer making ones? (same with Stuff pack)
they should either be in Basegame or in an Expansion Pack now that we have lots of packs (and kits too)

i doubt it will happen but i can only dream right? i swear they could make some packs into 1 pack

before doing that, the team should fix the bugs and add more things that aren't in that pack yet first (refresh/overhaul) and later make it into 1 Expansion Pack

I would like the team to fix bugs before merging DLC.

  • I think it could be an idea to merge some older packs that thematically fit strongly together into one.

Through this it would basically be a permanent discount on this which would be good, making it a more attractive offering but also it would allow for the packs features to be expanded on because now everyone who owns pack A also owns pack B.

When it's merged it does mean whoever owned one of the included packs would now get the other for free, but whoever already owned all included packs could get a code for a free kit of their choice or maybe a code for a discount on the next content to be released.

For example Vampires, werewolves and Realm of Magic could all be merged into one full expansion pack at the standard full expansion price.

All combined could allow for more interactivity between all that content. some new alchemy potions could be about vampires and werewolves, like to cure it or turn someone into one, creating alchemical plasma to drink or a rage reduction potion to help werewolves stay calm, or to enrage them and make them instantly wolf out. Could also be a new vampire themed cauldron and other interactive objects added that combine stuff from both packs.

Especially thinking long term with more expansions being added for possibly many years to come, it also reduces a lot of clutter and keeps things more manageable. Might also make it easier to maybe streamline various features introduced across the expansions, combine some things, tidy it up.
