Clear-Cut Filtering

The useful Filter function of the Calendar is overshadowed by other more prominent features on the sidebar. To help make the Filter function more noticeable, how about using Calendar icons for the filter selection. This allows ease of convenience through one-click filtering. When clicked, each icon would toggle checked/unchecked, on/off, color/gray.

Combine Add Event to Section

If a player owns all the packs, the Calendar sidebar could list events for Holidays, Festivals, Weddings, Stay Overs, Vacations, Work Schedule - all on the same day, making for a very long sidebar of scheduled listings for that day.

The Add Event options are found at the bottom of this (potentially long) sidebar list. Some event types have their own separate “Add” button, which affixes 4 more listings to the Calendar sidebar (ADD: Holiday, Event, Wedding Event, Stay Over).

Instead of scrolling to the bottom of the events list, how about collecting all the “Add” buttons to a single sidebar element and move it to the top of the Calendar sidebar for convenience and better visibility. Use calendar icons as one-click Add buttons.

Include Sulani Events

Island Living comes with some great community events. However these events have no notifications on the Calendar. A Sim with the “Child of the Islands” Trait would very much appreciate being notified of these island events if they live outside of Sulani.

Let’s add Sulani Events to the Calendar notifications and the Events filter.

Notification Toggle

Each Event listing has the option to Favorite it. But some events have weekly notifications that can become annoying. Depending on your played household, some events may not be relevant. An elder scientist with no teen children may not be interested in weekly notifications of Cheerleading Sports Day that comes with the High School Years expansion pack.

Using the same function as the Favorite Event toggle, how about adding a Notifications toggle for each Event/Festival found below the Favorite toggle. If checked ON, then that household will receive notifications for that event. If checked OFF, those event notifications are muted. Default state: ON.

@Vyo4 good idea! Especially with the Sulani events because they confuse me a little...well, a lot actually lol. I've never had notifications for them even when living next to them and for a while I didn't realise they were festivals. I get the turtles one (that's my favourite 🐢) but that's it. So I'd love for them to be added.

Wow, even after thousands of in game hours I never realized there was a filter in the calendar... I guess this supports your request :D

@Vyo4What ive never understand is my household with no teens gets a notification for high school festivals but my child of the island sim who lives in sulani isn’t notified of events (except the turtle one)

@gooochyeee I get that too! Those high school notifications annoy me. Even if my adult Sims are on a mountain climbing excursion they get a notification about high school events 🤦.

I would love to be able to mute some of the calendar notifications! And your suggested reorganization of filters/adding is great. Simple and clean.

ADD Club Gathering
The option and ability to Schedule Club Gatherings using the Calendar would be very helpful.
This function would regulate Club Gatherings and be more organized. It would help me not forget they exist. Scheduled meetings would remind me which Sims belong to which club when I rotate households.
Scheduling can only be done if the Sim is the Club leader.
Scheduled Club Gatherings would be remembered and noted on the Calendar of fellow Club members when playing their household.

Weekly (of chosen day)
Bi-Weekly (of chosen day)
Choose time.

End manually if not checked.

*The option to Send Alone would be an incredibly beneficial feature, especially when playing large households. Behaves similarly to Scout meetings for children in Seasons EP.

@Vyo4 I really like this idea for revamping the calendar UI, especially being able to toggle off alerts for certain types of events which do indeed clutter the notification feed with their spamming and, like you mentioned, are often irrelevant anyway.

Turning off notifications per pack/world would be great.
What I miss most is the option to choose Monday as the first day in the week. In real life every calendar I see here on the European mainland has Monday as a first day. It is so confusing to have Sunday show up first. I know that's the American way but an option to change the UI would be nice. Google and Microsoft have this option in their settings so customers can choose from their calendars. Please let us choose in the sims too. I often make mistakes when viewing the calendar.

@Vyo4 This would be actually game changing. It would vastly improve my satisfaction with TS4. I abhor getting notifications for Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, and Discover University events every single week when I'm not playing in those worlds, and it's one of the reasons I hardly play anymore.
