I know it is not quite the same thing, but there is an option in the game to Registering with the Ministry of Labour. In doing so you can add in a custom Job role and perhaps call it Retired Doctor ect.

CrispySims619 This turned out to be such a great temporary solution, so thank you for sharing it. I really appreciate it.
I went ahead and tested it myself, and you were absolutely right - your sim can stay retired, continue receiving their pension, and still be registered with the Ministry of Labour at the same time. I’ve added a screenshot so you can see what I saw as well.
I wanted to double check before confirming anything because I was a bit worried that registering with the "Ministry of Labour" might override the retirement status or stop the pension payments.
Thankfully, that isn’t the case at all.I can confirm: A retired Sim who’s already receiving a pension will keep getting their daily pension even after being registered with the Ministry of Labour as proven with my screenshot below.
Thanks again for pointing this out. It’s genuinely helpful and makes things a lot easier.

You are very welcome. I've used this feature since it was added into the game for exactly the same way. Glad it has helped you 😇
