Sewing stuff pack please!

New skill, new crafting and fashion studio decoration like sewing box, fabric rolls, dummies and other related stuff.

Two types of sewing machines: classic old fashoned and electric one.

  • Mk_2790  I love Nifty Knitting and Crystal Creations, but I wouldn't want a sewing stuff pack. Too similar to Nifty Knitting. I would rather have this in a larger Fashion expansion pack. There could be a Modeling active career in a hidden modeling neighborhood, where you might get assignments in the runway lot, the commercial modeling lot, or the high fashion modeling lot. Sort of a fashion-focused equivalent to Studiotown from Sims: Superstar. Then there could be a sewing semi-active career with two branches: one where you perfect your sewing craft, ultimately becoming a high fashion tailor; and another where you become a fashion designer. There would be a 10-level sewing skill and a 5-level dye-making skill (cross-pack compatible with Eco Lifestyle). Another thing, although I know I've suggested this before elsewhere, the pack would introduce the ability to add new swatches to existing outfits.

  • I agree that adding the sewing skill in a larger expansion pack is a great idea. This opens up the ability to even receive a degree in college toward either of those fields of fashion design and/or tailor allowing the opportunity to have a business to sell items and repair garments. I have been wanting this skill added for a VERY long time, but it seems EA does not hear my lone voice. I understand it would require a great deal of planning and creativity on the creators part. But I figure, and choose to believe, that they have the qualifications to succeed in achieving it. I am remaining hopeful that they will soon bring this skilled feature to fruition. They had sometime similar in TS2, so I'm waiting for them to improve and build upon that platform for TS4. I hope and wait.

aemills59 as a hobby seamstress I would give anything if EA could release a new pack that is centered around sewing. But like the whole shebang - from drafting the pattern, selecting the fabric and cutting, constructing the garment, and finally to fitting and adjusting.

And to be able to create and upload custom outfits to the gallery much like the tattoos.

This pack will open up new careers in fashion design and modelling where they could also host runway shows.

New items that would be a great addition would be size-adjustable mannequins that match to your customer - broader hips, apple body shapes, thinner frames, etc.

  • I would love something like a sewing gamepack, where they utilized create a style like they did for cats and dogs and horses. With lots of patterns, and fabrics.  Besides clothes for all ages, it would be nice if we could make bedspreads for beds, curtains and dolls and stuffed animals.  I also want a modeling career, this would be great in such a pack, I wouldn’t even mind it as an expansion pack if they have more careers in the fashion industry.  If they make it an expansion though I would certainly expect a nice world, like Paris as it is a fashion capital.  I have just started using Trendi and the thrift store to make outfits from high school years, I noticed they made it more pack friendly.  It’s a way to give my sims more clothing.  But I would absolutely love a sewing pack for home sewing and fashion careers as well.  If they could it would be nice for them to increase the amount of outfits in each category as well.  Another thing I want is to be able to have a costume category, for Halloween, costume parties etc.  I play rotationally and when I invite over other sims, for a costume party, I want them to have a set outfit that I picked out for them.

  • If they add a sewing pack and a fashion career I hope and wish they could add something that works like the Spore monster creator but for clothes, where they give us different top shapes, with different sleeve shapes, with different bottom shapes and we can mix and match and put them together to create a piece of clothing. We should also be able to select a pattern or a colour and add different extras like a pocket outline or a necklace or buttons, ribbons, etc.

As for other things I'd like my sims to sew is bedsheets. I am so tired of the bedsheets we have in game, it makes it difficult to choose a bed when decorating a bedroom, you either have to choose between bedsheet colour or bed frame colour, if the bed frame colour matches the room, you can be assured the bedsheets will be some garish clashing colour.

Also, would be nice to have some table clothes and quilts. Quilts could work like the bear rug.
