I also prefer the quests over the login type events. Sometimes I don't have much time to play and having to login three times a week for four weeks to unlock items is very inconvenient. With the quest events I can save up the quests and do them when I can as they unlock on a timed schedule and not by how many days I log in. Quest events are way more convenient if you have limited time available to play.
I used to look forward to letting the little quests build up over the week and then doing them over the weekends, gave me something different to do with my sims, get them out and about to places I wouldn't generally take them and the little story that came with those quest events were fun. I guess I just find the log in events a bit lackluster, the rewards for this login event are nice don't get me wrong, I just prefer the quest events as their rewards were more general in game items rather than a collaboration with a franchise like this one is 🙂
