This is actually pretty neat. We have grief, balance (Enchanted By Nature), the typical anger and sadness emotions which come more often with celebrities with the emotion bomb quirk (Get Famous) and the gloomy trait as well as those with the hot-headed trait, we have teenagers that fall into rebellious and avoidant phases and ask for advice (Parenthood), etc etc. I know a good deal of these require packs, but given what’s already in-game more wellbeing careers doesn’t sound too unusual. We already have a relationship counselling career option (Lovestruck).
If a sim was to attend therapy, they could get rid of a fear or quirk, have a chance to swap personality traits, and recover from burnout. A sim could receive certain moodlets from attending, they might even gain a new reward trait. It could be like school or work where you have assignments to do outside of sessions. If we’re gonna follow the function of school and work, therapy could be discontinued if their performance is too low (or ignore the performance scale and just base it off how many sessions are missed).
Having this as a business option would be great, too. People feel better when helping others (even if it’s in a game with fake people), and maybe they’ll be inspired. The business choices are very limited anyways… with all the packs bought I think there’s only 3 or 4 options?
(The Sims4 is obviously not an alternative to real therapy, but still!)
