Today's Laundry List announcement: Again not a word about Neighborhood Stories

For all the various bug fixes over the last year, I've not seen a single mention of the MASSIVE muck-up that is neighborhood stories. Perhaps I've missed something, but what I haven't missed is a real or suggested fix. I'd take six duplicate cows in my household inventory or a dozen blackened photos just to have this "feature" either fixed or removed until they fix it. The other day Grand Duke Capp left his royal home and took up with Crispin Black in Nordhaven. They fell. in. love. and. got. married. Crispin now has a royal title. Skip Broke is truly confused because he's supposed to be gay but keeps marrying women. Just yesterday, I loaded my game (Neighborhood Stories "disabled",  of course it can't be disabled...) and Mei Prescott and her kids I didn't know she had because I've never played her have moved in with Royal dude Alto and assumed a royal title. [*hear hair being ripped out*] Sofia Bjergsen showed up at Chez Llama pregnant AGAIN. I've gotten over feeling like a fiend when I use MCCC to **bleep** things in the bud, including budding Simlets. Unfortunately what MCCC for all its wonderful features can't **bleep** in the bud is Neighborhood Stories. ~  sigh

Do us a solid, EA/Maxis/Who/Whatever you are today, keep your tiny "fixes", keep your kits and packs. Give us a great big beautiful fix.

End of rant.
Signed, a loyal player who has played since The Sims (1) inception.

EDIT: Why is the forum automatically *bleeping  " en eye pee "  (spelling somewhat phonetically) ?????  Is that a curse word in some other tongue? For crying out loud. Just fix neighborhood stories AND your filters.

Thanks for all the input. I'm testing (again) in a mod-free, repaired game and will report back. This is very timely because I opened my game today to find out Layne Coffin left Olive Specter and moved in with Judith Ward, they had a baby. Baako Jang left his wife Anaya in San Myshuno, took their daughter Billie and moved in with my Sim (not an NPC) in Willow Creek. Katrina Caliente had a baby with "someone" and moved in with the Partihaus household in Windenburg. After returning everyone to their original households I wasn't about to easily correct relationships because I'd taken MCCC out. (I'll use cheats to fix them later)

  • All of the issues you're experiencing are because of mods. They don't move in or marry each other without mods. There are a lot of bugs in the game but this is one the less offending sections.

I just revisited the Bugs Forum and searched for posts about Neighborhood Stories. There are several comments about babies being born, NPCs moving in, etc.

How then are these households being manipulated? I have experienced this with and without mods. Without mods everything in my original post happened. There are no other settings to set as I opt to disable autonomy, various social settings, etc.

Hello, Neighborhood stories don’t have the feature which you mention. It can’t split and move in NPCs with other households. Also they can’t marry each other, they only allowed to divorce. NS respects gender choice, in fact they broke the romance setting as they fixed it so that gender preference got respected. I have formed romance options on with more as one single household and none of these singles formed a romance in over 12 Sim weeks with NS.

All other settings work well but you really need to adjust all settings. If you just let it run wild then you end up with a household full of horses/pets/children, which can a problem if you play with aging off for NPCs. Of course this only my experience in a vanilla game. I don’t  use mods.

If the Game Options setting for Neighborhood Stories is disabled, it is global for the game. I have used the game options setting to disable Neighborhood stories as well as checking Manage Households for played and unplayed households. Many players have reported this issue.

  • I haven't noticed neighborhood stories still going if it is disabled in via mange worlds screen. You have to disable it in BOTH my households and unplayed households.

  • They really need to go through and do some correcting of their censors.  The forum censors the Italian soup pasta e fa*goli. Its nonsensical.
