We need a Blank State option when starting a new save.

Hello TheSimsDirect & Maxis 😊

I'm not sure how difficult this would be for you to impliment into The Sims 4 but I think it would be a really great options if you could allow us Simmers to start a "blank state" save.

What I mean by this is that all of the worlds have all lots completely empty and all of the appropriate Sims are absent.

I would assume that the saves would still need to keep the NPC Sims such as Father Winter, Creature Keeper ect, but for non important Sims it would be great for them to be absent.

I feel like this would be a much welcome quality of life addition to the game for Simmers who like to rebuild worlds from the ground up and do not wish to go through each world manually.

100% it would be so helpful. I also think it could still apply to apartments. All The Sims team would need to do is make all of the apartments empty shells.

I'm not overly sure they would give us an option to turn off Townie generation since the game has to generate new Sims for the special NPC Sims in the game.

  • I can see the merits of something like this SimulationBuilds in particular for test saves. For my test save I went through and wiped loads of lots and households manually. Playing on console, storage is important and less builds and households in a new save could be helpful in some circumstances. It could even be in Game Options along with a toggle off new Townies option that would also really be much appreciated. There could be a "Start with Blank lots" checkbox for example. Obviously it wouldn't work for apartments, but for lots it could be useful and would add a degree of flexibility, especially as you can't delete lots from the world maps and have to load each one to bulldoze it.

I don't like sticking unknown files into my games. It's one of the reasons I don't play with mods or CC either. 😅

  • If you are on PC, there are plenty of save files you can download. There are a few creators that have shared empty saves. You just put them in the saves folder and you automatically have an empty save.
