I actually just recently (back in late December 2025 to be exact) dropped out of The Sims 4 and have no plans to get it back, and these FOMO reward events are the biggest reason I dropped out, just like most simmers. However, the only reason I kept it around for so long was because I had done a ton of projects that I was desperate to get done before dropping out completely. Though I will note that I didn't buy a single DLC (mods and CC were my go-to), and I'm glad I didn't, otherwise I would be regretting myself so much if I did, knowing that I couldn't even enjoy the DLC without the events getting in the way and ruining the user experience. The way these events are being pushed out heavily makes me think of YouTube ads in a way, as they basically do the same thing as these FOMO events, just ruin the user experience, and I honestly don't go on YouTube as much these days because of how bloated with ads it has become. I seriously don't need/want the same thing happening in games I play, so The Sims 4 gets put in the digital dustbin. 🗑
