It is really appreciated. I don't use twitter but like to stay informed about the sims.
I do think the sims should post their news here as well instead of counting on a volunteer to do so

@simsplayer818Thanks for linking the existing thread. This does provide non-X / Twitter folks access the information shared on a 3rd party platform via a volunteer. Her efforts are appreciated - and I hope EA will eventually provide direct & permanent access for all of it's customers to all game related information through official platforms.

There were complaints about this both when Twitter threw out all semblance of being a responsible company and when For Rent came out and people were anxious for information on the game-breaking bugs. These complaints have consistently fallen on deaf ears.
It's a problem that many official statements only come out on X/Twitter or come out there way before anywhere else. Maybe it's hard to believe, but not everyone in the world is on X/Twitter, and in fact, many people are leaving the platform. Why aren't announcements like this on the official TS4 News page? Why are they not posted here in AHQ, where we're actually reporting the bugs in question? Why is it up to a regular member who could decide to stop doing this or leave the forum anytime to re-post official news from social media? It's just weird.

We've found that letting EA know many of us are experiencing same issues/bugs helpful. In fact I've lurked, reading for years. Finally patience wore thin about being in the dark on important issues and our first post was born!

They don’t even bother to post the actual information on their Discord. I joined their Discord to get all the IMPORTANT information on Discord not on X, they don’t even bother to mentioning there although they have a channel under announcements & info -> sims – direct.I avoid twitter since it became X.

My assumption is that the social media team is only on X and they enjoy the echo chamber mentality. They have proven to me to believe they only need to communicate with who they want as a target audience. I am not on X because it is just an echo chamber for a certain type and has been for several years before Musk even purchased it. It was pointless to join when I am the kind of person many of them would prefer to cancel outright. They should communicate with their own forums, and we should not have to rely on someone posting comments from X via secondhand. It would be the smarter thing to do, but this is EA we are talking about, so I already know my opinions will be ignored.
- DopamineBlox2 years agoSeasoned Traveler@daikoyu I also joined the official Discord and was disappointed that announcements or updates are not shared there. While I enjoy discord & don't find joining it a barrier - others might - just as I find X/Twitter an impossible option. The point remains that we are customers of Sims4 / EA, not x/Twitter or Discord.
